When I first met my wife, I loved her…

But I didn’t yet know how to create a healthy relationship.

I didn’t understand how to create a space where love could actually feel safe.

We had our ups and downs.

There were moments of conflict, disconnection and hurt.

And over time, instead of her nervous system feeling safe enough to stay open, she began to protect herself.

She would pull away.

I would feel that distance and react.

Then I would push away too.

And without realising it, two people who loved each other were creating more and more distance between them.

One of the biggest shifts in our relationship happened when I stopped asking:

“Why isn’t she giving me the love I need?”

And started asking:

“What kind of environment am I creating for love to grow?”

For me, becoming a leader in my relationship wasn’t about controlling my wife.

It was about taking responsibility for the energy I brought into our relationship.

Could she feel safe with me?

Could she tell me how she really felt without being dismissed or judged?

Did she feel seen?

Did she feel heard?

Could she trust that I wasn’t going anywhere when things became difficult?

As I started creating more emotional safety, something beautiful happened.

She softened.

She trusted deeper.

She became more open with her love.

And we began enjoying each other and life together in a completely different way.

I realised that she never needed me to “fix” her.

She needed to feel seen, heard and safe enough in my presence to fully open.

And I needed to become the kind of partner who could hold that space.

Sometimes we think love disappears.

But sometimes love is still there…

It’s just hiding behind protection.

Create enough safety, consistency and trust, and you give love somewhere safe to come home to. ❤️

For the last six years, I’ve been studying Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work.

Last year, I had the privilege of attending one of his live retreats — and something clicked deeply for me.

As he spoke about the quantum field, the unified field, energy, consciousness and connecting beyond the limited sense of self… I kept thinking:

I’ve been reading about something that feels deeply connected to this in Gurbani.

Not because quantum physics and Gurbani are the same thing — they aren’t.

But the experience he was pointing towards resonated with what I was beginning to understand spiritually.

That there is something greater than the individual self.

A Source.
A Divine intelligence.
A life force flowing through creation.
A Oneness beneath the separation we experience.

For years I had been looking outward, studying consciousness, human behaviour, energy and transformation.

But strangely, some of those studies started bringing me back home.

Back to Gurbani.
Back to Guru.
Back to Vaheguru Ji.

The more I explored what it meant to move beyond the ego and surrender into something greater, the more I wanted to understand what Sikhi had been teaching me all along.

And that became part of the journey that eventually led me towards the decision to take Amrit.

Not because I had all the answers.

But because I wanted to go deeper.

Deeper into discipline.
Deeper into surrender.
Deeper into Naam.
Deeper into living with Guru at the centre of my life.

Sometimes we travel so far searching for truth…

only to realise the path back home was waiting for us all along. 🙏🏽

Sikhi Match is about more than bringing two people together.
