A look back at an inspiring evening of dialogue and reflection.

Last week, as part of a collaboration between Art for Tomorrow and House of NYNN, NOW, We Talk: From the Anthropocene to the Symbiocene brought together the artist Kyriaki Goni and Afroditi Panagiotakou, artistic director of the Onassis Stegi, for a thought-provoking conversation moderated by our editorial director Kim Conniff Taber . The talk covered diverse themes including humanity and technology, interdependence and our relationship with the natural world.

Exploring themes drawn from Goni’s recent work, the discussion challenged human-centered perspectives and invited us to imagine new ways of understanding knowledge, connection and collective futures.

Thank you to our speakers and to everyone who joined us for an engaging evening of discussion and exchange.

We're thrilled to announce Otobong Nkanga as our keynote speaker for Art for Tomorrow Talks Milano on April 14.

Born in Kano, Nigeria, and based in Antwerp, Nkanga's multidisciplinary practice examines the complex relationships between bodies, territories, minerals, and the earth. Through drawing, installation, performance, photography, textiles, and sculpture, she creates pathways that translate the natural world into networked situations evoking memory, labor, care, and emotion.

Her work has been featured in prestigious institutions including MoMA New York (2024), Musée d'art Moderne de Paris (2025), Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, and Documenta 14. She received a Special Mention at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019) and won the 2017 Belgium Art Prize.

Nkanga's research-based practice unsettles divisions between conceptual and sensual approaches, constellating humans and landscapes, Global North and South economies through a poetics of ecological entanglement.
