✨Today marks the opening of the London Wine Fair - the winner of the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 public vote in the category Event of the Year. It is therefore fitting that the Wine Travel Awards stand should bring together an exceptional group of international producers, each presenting wines and spirits that reflect the diversity and dynamism of the global wine world.

Among the first to pour today was the renowned wine critic, author, and WTA judge Robert Joseph, who presented:

🍷K'avshiri • კავშირი - his Georgian wine created in collaboration with Vladimer Kublashvili. K’AVSHIRI White (52% from the 2023 vintage) was recently recognised by Decanter, earning an impressive 91 points.

Throughout the three days of the fair, the WTA stand will host a curated selection of producers from 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚, 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐯𝐚, 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐥, and beyond.

🍷 Secret Spot Wines - a boutique project from Portugal’s Douro Valley, founded by Rui Cunha and Gonçalo Sousa Lopes, dedicated to limited‑production wines that reveal hidden micro‑terroirs, old vineyards, and the authentic character of traditional Portuguese varieties.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐔𝐊 also presents a wide portfolio of high‑quality Ukrainian wines, including Wine Travel Awards nominees from various seasons:

There are, as the saying goes, two ways to appear on the pages of 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐬: invest millions in reputation and business - or create an experience so compelling that Forbes comes looking for you.
Our Wine Travel Awards nominees have, quite decisively, chosen the latter.

And so, Forbes reports: the inaugural 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐲 - the moment when wine tourism officially stops being an “add‑on” to travel and becomes its very purpose - will take place on 𝟏𝟕 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 at the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Beaune.

The event will showcase the winners across 16 categories celebrating every facet of wine tourism. This year’s Must Visit list features estates that do far more than fill a glass - they craft experiences that linger.

Venissa Estate, where the revived Dorona grape gleams as brightly as the domes of Venice.
Argentina’s Bodega La Luz del Vino, part of an international group Vinos de La Luz bold enough to invest in Ukrainian vineyards today.
Georgia’s SHUMI Estate, Winery Khareba, and Shaloshvili Cellar, where tradition does not age - it ferments into masterpieces.
Champagne Joseph Perrier and Château Pape Clément, where history comes alive with every sip.
The Yeatman, a hotel that surveys Porto as though it dreamt the city into being.
South Africa’s Glenelly Estate Stellenbosch, home to its own glass museum and to a proprietor whose 101 years have done nothing to diminish her resolve.
Thailand’s Monsoon Valley, where visitors arrive not on horseback but - quite literally - on elephants.
Taiwan’s Domaine Vino Formosa, pioneers of underwater ageing.
And Spain’s Bodega Tío Pepe, Descalzos Viejos, Bodega La Luz del Duero, and Bodega La Luz de Rueda - where romance and winemaking compete to see which can outdo the other.

These are only some of the estates redrawing the map of global wine travel. Once upon a time, wine tourism meant a tasting. Today, it is a cultural experience worthy of its own place in the calendar.

⚖️Now the baton passes to our judges. By May, they will select one laureate in each category - a task requiring both palate and philosophical fortitude.

The celebrations, however, are already in motion. 𝐎𝐧 𝟏𝟕 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞, 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐞, within the inspiring walls of the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne, we will gather for the 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲, by the inaugural 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐲. Expect insight, conviviality, and perhaps the odd spirited debate about terroir.

From guides who turn itineraries into cultural explorations, to winemakers pushing the boundaries of climate, technique, and imagination, to destinations where heritage, gastronomy, and landscape converge — this year’s nominees form a community as varied as it is inspiring. They remind us that wine is not merely something to taste, but something to experience, question, and pursue with curiosity.

Public voting will soon close, and then the process enters its next chapter. In early April, the organisers will announce 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬.
