From their roots in the vibrant 90s club scene to the cutting-edge of the UK jazz scene, BBE have spent three decades transcending genre - home to masterpieces from the legendary J Dilla and Roy Ayers, while nurturing modern jazz with artists such as & .

It was a true milestone moment for us to witness the greatness of Brian Jackson live at Brick Lane Jazz Festival this year. Hearing him perform music from his brilliant new BBE release ‘Now More Than Ever’ - revisited and reimagined songs from his sprawling, legendary career was an unforgettable highlight. A must-listen! 💫

If you haven’t caught onto yet, you’re missing the most exciting music coming out of Newcastle right now. They’ve been shaking up the UK scene with what they call “Geordie Jazz” - an experimental fusion of nu-jazz and punk.

Led by childhood best friends, bassist and drummer .ie, they joined us BLJF last month as part of their 2026 tour. Pure, unadulterated energy took over the stage - one of our festival highlights.

Their new album ‘A Great Day in Newcastle’ (produced by Geordie Greep) dropped last Friday. It’s a sprawling, beautiful project full of social commentary and world-building. A total must-listen!
