Huge congrats to our host Donnie Maroot who has been inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.

Well deserved Donnie 👏

🌟 We're delighted to introduce our next 2026 Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame Services to Community inductee: Donald 'Maroot' Macleod!

Donald is the founder of Care for a Ceilidh — a wonderful scheme that brings Gaelic singers and traditional musicians to perform for residents of hospices, care homes, and special needs schools, entirely on a voluntary basis, spreading joy and music to those who need it most.

Donald is also a familiar face as MC at trad festivals across Scotland and is actively involved in Gaelic cultural organisations in Glasgow.

Today, we want to take a moment to remember someone who played such a huge part in Live in Loch Goil, but sadly was not with us this year.

Susan (pictured in the white t shirt) was Neil, one of our organisers’, sister-in-law and the partner of his brother, Darrin. Many of you will remember seeing her around the festival over the years, always helping behind the scenes and being such a big part of the LILG family. Darrin was back behind the scenes again this year making sure the bars were stocked and everything ran smoothly, just as they always did together.

Susan became unwell in September and sadly passed away from cancer on 8th February this year. Today would have been her 54th birthday.

This year felt very different without her. We just wanted to take a moment to remember her, because she was such a special part of the festival and is deeply missed by everyone who knew her ❤️
