Pure Welsh

Pure Welsh A smallholding in South West Wales with a fibre flock of Shetland and Shetland/Gotland X plus other cross breeds.

The fleeces are processed into various yarns, batts and slivers or sold to hand spinners at various wool shows. Yarns etc are available by visiting the farm or at fibre shows, as well as online by contacting us. We also offer farm visits to meet the sheep and lambs (after April), you might even have the chance to cuddle a lamb.

These are the next Wool Shows I will be attending in May and June.

There are some exiting new venues coming up on my schedule later in the summer and autumn as well. More about them soon.

Will have a great selection of 4ply to DK yarn, slivers and batts as well as raw fleeces from our flock of Shetland, Shetland/Gotland X and Llanwenog raised on our farm in South West Wales.

Pop by and find out more and squish some yarn....

Currently sorting and labelling the remaining yarns and slivers to take with me to
Wonderwool Wales this weekend.
It might be the 20th Anniversary for Wonderwool Wales, but it is also our 10th Anniversary.

This was our first stall in 2016, with the small range of various Llanwenog and BWM yarns and blends. I still remember knitting the blanket; every square has a different pattern and used all the yarns from our sheep. How this has changed over the years.....

Over the last 6 years we have added Shetland and Shetland/Gotland X to our flock, which have such an amazing range of colours. We have a range of yarns from 4ply to DK, going from white to cream, fawn, moorit, grey to black. Also slivers and batts for hand spinning and felting.

And I will be bringing a selection of raw fleeces for anyone, who likes to go through the complete process and spin their own yarns.

Hope you pop by and say Hi, my stall is M3 in Hall 2.

Just collected 2 beautiful ewe lambs to keep our other mollie lamb company.

Now deciding on names, I think the curly one looks like a Lily to me 😋

Looking forward to seeing them grow up together.

It is always exciting to get the yarn back from Rampisham Hill Farm & Mill. You have chosen fleeces and hope they spun up beautifully.
And no disappointment, David and Ruth have done it again.

3 lots of 4ply have come back, a Shetland black, a Shetland moorit and Coco's yarn, this time including her ram lamb Haggis, who is a spitting image of Coco. You can see the silvery shadows in the yarn.

Now labelling up ready for Wonderwool Wales 2026 later in April.

Finished hand knitting this little aran jumper using our Llanwenog DK to show off this beautiful yarn.

It has a soft feel but still a great stitch definition.

Maybe you are tempted to knit one for yourself?

The sheep know what is best for them, nice cosy barn and hay on tab.

Some might say they are spoilt 🤔
