We’re excited to welcome back Atlantic Pacific (AP) – a charity founded by UWC Atlantic alumni – to UWC Atlantic this summer! Their programmes offer hands-on, world-class learning in sea safety, ocean conservation, and humanitarian search & rescue (SAR).

Here’s what’s on offer:

You don’t need any experience to join Atlantic Adventure Experience (AAE) 2026 - just the courage to give it a go ✨

Spend a week taking on exciting challenges like caving, rock climbing, and watersports, all while building confidence, learning new skills, and meeting people who are just as up for an adventure as you are.

Whether it’s your first time trying something like this or you’re looking for your next big challenge, AAE is designed to help you step outside your comfort zone and discover what you’re capable of 💪

During the ELEA course, your time won’t be spent day-in, day-out behind a desk. This unique two-week experience combines English language learning with a wide range of exciting activities designed to build your confidence and communication skills - all whilst having an amazing time!

Take on archery, climbing, pool kayaking and bushcraft, or explore our fantastic location with hikes along the stunning Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Back on campus, enjoy sports, team games and a lively tournament challenge with new friends from around the world.

🌍✨ What does an English lesson look like at ELEA?

It’s not just sitting at a desk with a textbook. It’s sharing ideas, building confidence - and finding your voice in a truly international classroom.

Participants will be assigned to small English language class groups, creating a space where everyone feels supported and challenged. These lessons form a core part of the ELEA experience, alongside a wider programme of activities. From the very start, the focus is on real communication - speaking, listening, collaborating, and growing in confidence every day.

Each lesson is built around the 21st Century skills young people need to thrive in today’s world:
💬 Collaboration
🌍 Global citizenship
🧠 Critical thinking
💡 Leadership
📱 Digital literacy

Through exploring real-world topics and global challenges, participants don’t just improve their English - they build confidence using it in real-life situations. The Atlantic Pacific (AP) Junior Summer Camp is a six-night residential programme for 14–17 year olds, offering a unique introduction to lifesaving, rescue, and emergency response.

Set within the breathtaking grounds of UWC Atlantic, you’ll spend your days learning by doing - guided by experienced professionals and surrounded by like-minded peers.

What to expect:
💥 Hands-on outdoor and water-based training
💥 Practical first aid and rescue skills you can use in real life
💥 High-energy, realistic scenarios that put your skills to the test

Along the way, you’ll build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and gain insight into what it’s like to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments - all while contributing to Atlantic Pacific’s mission to combat global drowning.

☀ This summer, Atlantic Pacific (AP) returns to UWC Atlantic with their inspiring, hands-on courses! ☀

Among them is Introduction to Medicine, an exciting opportunity for young people curious about careers in healthcare, rescue, and emergency response.

Over the course of an immersive week, you’ll gain hands-on experience, build practical first aid skills, and hear directly from professionals working in medical and emergency settings.

Throughout the course you will:
💥 Take part in daily workshops developing essential lifesaving skills
💥 Hear real stories and advice from doctors, medics, and emergency responders
💥 Put your knowledge into action through realistic rescue scenarios on land and in the water

By the end of the week, you’ll also gain the HSE First Aid at Work qualification, valid for three years - a valuable certification that could support future study, volunteering, or career pathways.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of UWC Atlantic, it’s a week that combines learning, challenge, and unforgettable experiences with like-minded peers.
