Celf is partnering with Llandrindod Town Council for Town of Culture. The bid is written and submitted but we need your help. Machynlleth is running rings around us in their social media efforts!
What is Town of Culture? It's new
It is a competition to be named the best town and it comes with funding. If we get short listed we would have £60,000 to put on events around town to boost visitor numbers, raise our profile and improve the local economy - all while having a great time! and that is just the short list prize. The overall winning town gets drum roll please..... £3 million!!! You might have heard of City of Culture and seen what it has done for Liverpool, Derry and Bradford.
Llandrindod is amazing and we really want to show that, the wild architecture, the crazy Victorian boom town story, the people, the green spaces, the lake, geology at events, organisations that do great things like and fabulous local businesses like and so so many more. All wrapped in a beautiful mid Wales landscape with the line running through.
We need to get people talking about it. Machynlleth have been interviewing local people, making videos and getting lots of press coverage. So we need to raise our game. We put in a solid bid and we need and deserve it more than many town.
