This Thursday Dance for Plants returns to 🎉

When Sam and Scott played there a few weeks ago was kind enough to record them talking off the cuff about a couple of the records they were playing. You can tell we're not born content creators (apologies for the audio quality on the second one in particular) 😂

We might not be great at improvised album reviews whilst DJing, but we know a good record when we hear one! We loved playing music in such a beautiful setting and we can't wait to do it again!

We'll be spinning wax from 6pm til close this Thursday, book a table for some great food and music 🎶

This Sunday, Sam is returning to the newly-renovated studio for the latest edition of Green Space! This clip from last November's show playing 'The Lark Ascending' seemed a fitting way to announce its return 🐣

This month Sam will be joined by special guest and fellow DJ Tom, who is the CEO of , a not for profit catering company which is providing children across Merseyside with nutritious meals and education in food literacy. 🍜

Listen in from 2pm as they chat about the work that Food for Thought is doing in Liverpool and beyond, and bounce a huge range of tunes off each other! Tom (aka .select ) will be bringing some of his prized vinyl rarities to share - not one to be missed! 📅

Our second guest for Friday's party is none other than 🍋

Known for her genre-jumping all-vinyl sets in some of Liverpool's hottest spots, she'll be taking control of the Green Room dancefloor with a peaktime set that promises to be full of tasty musical treats!

To give you an idea of what she's about, Lemyn's kindly picked out for us some of her favourite records for us, swipe to see! ⏩

Saidera - Luzes da Cidade

This was the soundtrack to my summer last year. A gorgeous Brazilian house track with vocals that remind me of Roge and Jorge Ben - it’ll bring a taste of the beach to the Green Room and always gets me pining for warmer months ahead.

Ago- Nana Benz Du Togo

This entire album is a masterpiece and I had the chance to see Nana Benz at We Out Here a few years back. It’s all about Tite and J’ai Compris on this record, and I have great memories of hearing it played out at Otra in the Green Room last year.

Faze Action - Manswera

You can’t go wrong with DJ duo Faze Action, and Manswera is a perfect slice of Afrobeat made for a club setting. The B-side is a brilliant dub edit of Rugare too, and I’m always tempted to grab another copy to play both back to back.

Consisting of Liverpool-based DJs and , Poolside Pumpers explores the sun-drenched influences that span the Balearic sound.

Long term residents of iconic Liverpool venue , they’ve also soundtracked dance-floors across the North West including the likes of Kitchen Street, Baltic Weekender, The Merchant, Gottwood and Renae.

They broadcast regularly on Alto Radio, Steam Radio and have appeared on other stations such as NTS, Crop Radio and Melodic Distraction.

We're thrilled to have Snoodman Deejay spinning for us this Friday at , and he's chosen a few of his current faves for us:

Amabala Vol 2.
I’m a huge fan of everything Phil Mison touches and this record is no exception. Call it sunset/sunrise/moonlight music, whatever the occasion - its a gorgeous, lush record from the balearic legend and I’m looking forward to selecting from some of the more dance-floor oriented tracks on it. It’s got Dance 4 Plants pedigree as well, as I played Eko Maina on my Dance 4 Plants Chamomile Tea mix from a few years back. Phil Mison’s also just dropped another great tune under his Cantoma alias - ‘Further Ft. Minako’ is a serious tip!!!

Auntie Flo – Birds Of Paradise
At the risk of stating the obvious, Auntie Flo makes really nice music. I mean really nice music. I have to admit, I missed the boat on this one initially but caught the repress just in time to snag a copy. This is an exquisitely produced, deeply atmospheric and brilliantly layered record that I think will work really nicely bridging those early doors moments as the dance-floor starts to fill up and the haze from the smoke machine starts to work its magic.

Johnwaynes – Let's Get Lost Vol. 7
Great cheap heat these! Great to have in the bag as they’re great to segue from more balearic style cuts into groovy house. Handy in any almost situation!
