9–11 year olds carry big feelings in kid-sized hearts.
Between school, friendships and growing up, Christmas can be a lot.

Creative spaces, laughter and play aren’t just “nice extras” – they help your child feel calm, confident and connected when everything around them gets busy. 💫

If you’d love to give them more creative time this Christmas but don’t know where to start, try one of these this week:

• Put on music and say: “You’re in charge of the dance routine” - any excuse for a Christmas Kitchen Disco 🎅🏻
• Let them redesign the Christmas tree (even just a section!)
• Give them a “creator’s box” – scraps, stickers, pens, tape – because you need a centre piece for the xmas table?
• Ask them to invent a new Christmas game for the family

They’ll remember the way you showed up; the hot chocolate fuelled snuggles after the long day, the silly in-jokes, the time you chose to sit and listen.

ArtAbyss Children’s Festival 2026 offers a full day at Ballymully Cottage Farm, Limavady with:
• Professional theatre, dance and visual arts sessions
• Curriculum-linked activities
• A focus on confidence, creativity and wellbeing

Pupil tickets are £15 per head, and we’re working to secure bursaries to support schools where cost is a concern.

What does an ArtAbyss festival day look like?

A class arrives at Ballymully Cottage Farm and spends the day moving between:
🎭 Theatre & storytelling
💃 Dance & movement
🎨 Visual arts & making
🤝 Activities that build confidence, communication and teamwork

It’s creative, playful and packed – but always rooted in curriculum-linked learning and children’s wellbeing.

ArtAbyss Children’s Festival 2026 runs on 10th, 11th & 12th June 2026 for Key Stage 2 pupils in the North West.

Big kids are too cool for Santa… until they’re not.

They still need magic. They still need make-believe. They still need spaces where they can be silly and creative and forget about being “grown up” for a while.
