As many of you will know Wensleydale Show and all shows are made up of very many brilliant Volunteers but today at the AGM of the Yorkshire Federation of Show Societies one of ours was celebrated at the highest level.

👏🏼👏🏼 Sarah Liddle was awarded the inaugural YFSS Volunteer Award for Outstanding Commitment; having been part of the show for several decades in so very many roles she really deserved this recognition, well done Sarah 👏🏼👏🏼

Our Volunteers social event is coming up fast and we need to know numbers attending by NEXT Sunday 15th February at the latest please.

It was a fantastic event last year and it is a great way for our many brilliant volunteers to have a great evening together without the pressure of show-day demands plus it is our chance to really say THANKYOU for all your hard work.

🌟🌟Tradestand Applications are now open for the 2026 Show. 🌟🌟

We have our brilliant Craft tent full of genuine Craft-makers, our Food from Farming tent bringing locally produced food and drink makers together and of course our wonderful variety of Outdoor trade spaces.

Applications close 30th June 2026 or sooner if sold out before hand so please don't delay.

🥰 We have a great one for you that means you can keep eating as much chocolate as you like, you don't have to run 5k by the end of January and you'll still gain that great warm glow of pride when on a sunny day (fingers crossed) in August you have been part of a great local day! 🥰

We are always looking for new Volunteers - be it on the day, in the set-up and/or take down, 4 days out, 4 months out, whatever you can volunteer.

🌟 What a fantastic night at the Annual dinner last night. 🌟

Over 80 guests joined us for a lovely evening where we also gave thanks to our outgoing Presidents David and Margary Amsden and outgoing Chair Ele Acaster Law for the last two years. 👏🏼 👏🏼

We also officially welcomed our President for the next two years Judy Metcalfe as well as new chair Janette Stewart and new vice chair Alex Welch. 🤗

Our thanks must go to the entertaining speaker Stephen Clarke, Jackie Marwood and team for the wonderful food and Wensleydale Rugby Club for hosting us last night. 👏🏼 👏🏼

🥳🥳Join us on Friday, 28th November, for the Wensleydale Agricultural Society's annual dinner. This year, it's taking place at the Wensleydale Rugby Club in Leyburn. Enjoy a delightful two-course supper, followed by the entertaining speaker Stephen Clark, who will share "Historical Tales from a Yorkshire Village." Tickets are £20 per person.
