LGCC'S LAST PLAYER STANDING - WORLD CUP 2026 EDITION

Think you can pick a winning team when others are choosing losers? Then come and have a go!

Brought to you by LGCC FC, the Sunday football team branch of LGCC, it's 'Last Player Standing - World Cup 2026 Edition'. Entry costs a one-off £10 (multiple entries allowed).

How Does LPS Work?
Pick a different country at each stage of this year's competition - and you'll keep going through if your choices are undefeated (group stages) or progress (knockout stages).

You can only select a country once during the tournament, but of course any number of people can pick the same country at each stage.

How To Enter?
Your first three different countries not to lose - covering the three rounds of group matches - must be named and accompany your entry fee by 7.30pm on Thursday June 11; 30 minutes before World Cup 2026 begins.

Late entries will be accepted only at the organiser's discretion.

TUESDAY JUNE 2: T20 AT THE GREEN
Leverstock Green v Studham - Dacorum Super League

There's more pink-ball, coloured kit action at The Green for you to enjoy this week - as LGCC host Studham in the third of their four Phase 1 group matches.

Having won one and lost one of their opening two games, Levy will want to win this one and the final group game at Langleybury (Thu Jun 11) to ensure they go into the top group in the DSL's second & deciding Phase 2 during late June / early July.

It's a 6.00pm start on Tuesday, with the clubhouse & bar set to be open throughout.

T20 AT THE DOUBLE: Wed May 20 & Thu May 21 at The Green

LGCC's T20 XI will be stepping out in their smart new Skechers-branded black & green T20 kit two nights in a row at The Green next week.

The Heath Park Cup R1 tie versus Chipperfield Clarendon has been rescheduled for Wednesday May 20 (6pm start).

And it'll be followed the next day (Thu May 21, 6pm) by a Dacorum Super League Phase 1 group game against Berkhamsted.

With the clubhouse & bar timed to open just as play starts, your support on either or both evenings would be very welcome.

LGCC FC - LEAGUE WINNERS 2025/26

Congratulations to all of the Leverstock Green CC Football Club squad, after they won the Herts 1961 Sunday Football League Division Two thanks to a unbeaten 16-match run to finish the season.

Celebrations continued into the May Day Bank Holiday weekend with a game at Vicarage Road Stadium followed by End-of-Season Awards back at The Green.

🚨King and Anderson Record Breakers🚨

Last Friday night against Latrobe, our Women’s First Grade team broke two Club records.

The team scored 1/176 (highest in club history) off their 20 overs, thanks to a record partnership by Georgia King and Georgia Anderson. King scored 76 off 42 balls and Anderson scored 69 off 63 balls; with both batters finishing not out. This quality partnership combined for 156 runs, the highest in the Clubs History within the Female program space.

Not only did this game see two club records broken, the win on Friday night means our Ladies have locked up top-spot on the ladder and have qualified straight through to the Grand Final with one regular season game remaining.

Congratulations to Coach Georgia and Team!

EVERY TUESDAY MORNING: QiGong (TaiChi) Session:

Feel free to join a weekly sessions of QiGong (TaiChi) and learn gentle, strengthening movements to help improve wellbeing in general.

Running between 10.30am and 11.30am every Tuesday morning, the sessions are aimed at both complete beginners and the more experienced.

The cost is £5 per session, payable upon arrival. Please feel free to come along whenever suits you next.

EVERY THURSDAY EVENING: Yoga & Relaxation Group

Great for mindfulness, core strength and finding a little calm amid today's hustle & bustle, LGCC's long-running Yoga Group is keen to welcome new members - regardless of experience level.

The Yoga & Relaxation group meets every Thursday evening at The Green, between 6.30pm and 8.00pm with the chance to stay back for a drink and a chat afterwards.

Sessions are run by a regular qualified instructor, and you'll quickly get accustomed to the familiar faces of regular attendees.

It's £5 per session, payable upon arrival. Mats are provided if you don't have your own.
