The Pocket Choral Society are visiting Lesbury village hall on Sunday 12 April 2026 at 7:00pm as part of the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.

Hailing from the elusive village of Pocket, this gently humorous ‘a cappella’ touring group combines beautiful harmonies with much laughter, original music with comedy songs, elements of theatre, topical songs and improvised singing sessions.

While no-one is quite sure where it is, the village of Pocket nestles on a babbling brook between gently rolling hills – it is a rural idyll like so many villages across the breadth and depth of the UK. With its church, shop, and its pub ‘The Crippled Pigeon’, it has all the facilities to keep the place vibrant. However, some of its residents are less idyllic of course and there are many stories of dark deeds and country ways.

The vicar, publican, farmer and village shop worker who form the group, bring a whole new vibe to the show as they combine their singing with tales of intrigue and village life.

SPRING 2026 SHOW: THE POCKET CHORAL SOCIETY
We are delighted to announce our Spring 2026 show – The Pocket Choral Society – coming to Lesbury village hall on Sunday 12 April at 7:00pm as part of the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.

Hailing from the elusive village of Pocket comes this comedy ‘a cappella’ touring show combining beautiful harmonies with much laughter, original music with comedy songs, elements of theatre, topical songs and improvised singing sessions.

The Pocket Choral Society features four experienced singers blending into one. Singing unamplified, the quartet bring their own songs and some new arrangements of more well-known numbers by Lennon & McCartney, Lou Reed, Flanders & Swann and Tom Waits in an intimate and relaxed way.

Sixteen strings, eight dancing feet and four voices in one electrifying and hilarious musical show! Graffiti Classics are a comedy string quartet who never sit down, bursting the perceived elitist boundaries of traditional classical music with their hilarious all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy show.

Wickedly funny, the group energetically leap and clown their way through an eclectic musical landscape from Beethoven to Elvis, all masterfully accompanied on their own instruments. This ground-breaking ensemble is on a mission: to make classical music irresistibly fun.

This isn’t just a classical concert—it’s a virtuoso mix of musical comedy, gypsy-folk, opera, bluegrass, stand-up comedy and dance! Expect lots of laughs, dancing and singing, all tied together with endearing audience interaction.
