We’re delighted to be part of the Town Council's Community Day on Saturday 6th June, a celebration of the clubs, groups and societies that bring our town to life, all about shining a light on the organisations that offer residents something to do, activities to join, and communities to be part of.

Running alongside the Charter Market, the High Street will be transformed into a lively showcase of local opportunities with a wide mix of organisations to explore. Whether you’re looking to try a new hobby, to meet new people, support your wellbeing, or simply explore what’s available in the town, Community Day will offer a relaxed way to discover something that suits you.

From sports clubs to art societies, all will be ready to share what they do, how to get involved and what makes their group special. It’s a chance to chat, ask questions and find out what’s happening right on your doorstep, all in one place.

Big change for 2026!

This year we will be selecting Carnival Ambassadors to be our stars on Carnival Day. We made the decision to move away from having Princesses and Princes following feedback from both young people and parents. This is a huge change for us having had “Royalty” at Carnivals for over a century.

The Selection Disco will be on 10th May at the Royal British Legion Club from 4.30pm to 6pm. Open to any young person who lives in Leighton Buzzard or Linslade, or attends a school in the town, and is in school years 4,5,6,7 or 8. Entry to the disco and selection is free.

The Ambassadors selected will be on the Carnival float in the procession on 11th July, they will lay wreaths on Remembrance Sunday and will be invited to be part of the stage party at the town Christmas Light switch-on.

This is an opportunity for young people to be part of the longest running community event in our town.

Visit our website www.leightoncarnival.co.uk for on-line entry form.
