The Martin Machin Champions Challenge

The Martin Machin Champions Challenge An annual charity event where the top champions of the North West go head to head Adults £3 on the door and kids go free!

This Champions Challenge is the brain child of our very own Jim Bolton - a dedicated member of 3 leagues in the North West and who is a veteran TT player with over 40 years under his belt. Each year the TT season comes to an end in April and with so many leagues there are a lot of players who never get to play the creme de la creme from wider areas. Jim saw a gap in the market for this and each y

ear invites the 6 top players in each league and county to go head to head once a year for a battle of all battles, the ultimate Champions Challenge. All profits on the evening go to Wigan and Leigh hospital and we have raised each year anything from £250 to over £500 on the evening. It is a fantastic night of fast and furious matches, with the champions going all out to claim the ultimate victory. There is also a raffle held to help raise funds where some top prizes can always be won...

What another Fantastic day of table tennis 🏓

It was a new format this year which saw our players at The Martin Machin champions challenge, battle it out early doors in heats, quarter finals, semis and then the final challenge where Shaun Hall beat Joseph Illia in the final!

Huge congrats to all of our players who made it a top championship

Huge welcome to our 2 time champion Matty Westworth back to the Championship… aiming to do it for a third time - and if he does he’ll be our first!

We also have a double CC champion Jonathan Taylor here - last time Jonathan won was 2015!

Can he or Matty make it our first Triple champion OR will someone new grab the slot!?

Expecting the winner to be crowned by about 10 pm this eve …. Keep with us folks, it’s sure to be a great day of sport ! 🏓
