Funk Nation brings something to the table that's missing from live music at the moment, a dedicated LIVE funk and soul night where you can groove away to the best in jazz, funk, motown, northern soul, rare groove, acid jazz and more. With house band the Funk Soul Collective, and DJs spinning the best in these genres all night long, they are joined by great bands, both local, and from up and down the UK.

We start at 12 today so get yourself down early and get your groove on as we warm up with some great DJs before headliners Smoove and Turrell close this years festival

Well, it’s taking me a couple of days to gather my thoughts on what was an incredible day down at The Cow and Plough - Steamin Billy for Funk Nation Summer Sounds 2026.. firstly let me thank the rain gods for not raining on the; day when it was always promised it was gonna to come personally I feel like we were blessed.

Thank you to all the DJs and musicians that joined us on the day that created such a wonderful atmosphere  with a fine selection of vinyl
It was a pleasure being in your company and listening to your music..

 Thanks to the team at the cow and plough for all your hard work throughout the week and on the day for forgiving us a fantastic venue and making the Day run so smoothly

Always a big thank you to Ben and the lads at Sounds Alive UK for providing a quality service and quality sound why would we go anywhere else..

And of course I couldn’t do it without Joe Nixon and the Arch Creative team  for all their hard work and creativity..

And not forgetting ;Jane Kelly and Anita most for meeting and greeting you on the day..we couldn’t do it without you. You pay your money and put your trust in us… and provide such a wonderful atmosphere..

Thanks for all your positive comments over the last couple of days on what a fantastic day you’ve all had..

We move on to this weekend where Funknation hosts the Sunday at Brew Beat a three day music festival on Jubilee Square it’s free entry as always so come and join us for the day, we have some great DJs and also headlining Funknation favourites Smoove and Turrell
