The entry window for the 2026 Contest is now open!

📣🎺 2026 November Contest Update 🎺📣

Our popular Open Own Choice Contest will take place on 📆Sunday 22nd November 2026!

For 2025, we were forced to move home due to new policy at our regular venue. Whilst Bosworth Academy provided us with a great venue for a lower entry contest, it does not offer the necessary space for a return to 60 bands.

As we are hopeful that this contest will return to its former glory this year, we have once again searched for, visited and secured a new venue for 2026. With access to a performance hall with large stage and tiered seating, ample assembly space and a secondary hall to be used as required, our contest will move to Ashby School.

Entry forms and schedules will be available by the end of this week, so please keep your eyes on this page or email [email protected] for a copy.

📣‼️ 2026 Events Update ‼️📣

❌ Solo Contest - 29/03/2026 ❌

Due to low entry numbers and venue costs, LBBA committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel the solo contest.

We had sincerely hoped to reinstate the great contest that we once had, supporting young and aspiring players on their musical journey. However, it appears that this will not be possible at this time.

Those that have submitted and paid for their entry to the contest can claim a full refund by contacting Becky Cook in the same way as you submitted your entry.

We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience.

📣 2026 Annual Contest 📣

I am starting to receive enquiries about the 2026 Annual Contest, so I wanted to provide a brief update.

Currently, we have a provisional date of the weekend 21st - 22nd November 2026. However, we have a few issues to iron out before we can confirm details. This should be settled by 20th February 2026 and all details/entries will be announced.

🏆 ⭐️Thank You! ⭐️🏆

With a successful, but long day of contesting now behind us, all that’s left to say is Thank you!!

To the bands for supporting the contest on a difficult date. To the supporters for buying a ticket and programme and providing a much needed audience. But mostly to the committee, volunteers and school staff that have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the unknown into a successful contest!
