What a magical moment! Tonight’s Fiers à Cheval performance was truly breathtaking, giant glowing horses parading down New Walk, captivating hundreds and hundreds of spectators! A spectacular sight!

But Light Up Leicester isn’t over yet! 🌟 The installations and performances continue across the city until 10pm, so there’s still time to explore, experience, and soak up the magic before the festival ends.

It’s the last night of Light Up Leicester, and we’re going out in style! Don’t miss your final chance to experience the magic of illuminated art, interactive performances, and show-stopping spectacles across the city. Here’s what’s on tonight:

✨ It’s Friday! Are we ready for things to really get into full swing?! ✨

From virtual orchestras to spoken word poetry and vibrant Holi celebrations, tonight’s lineup is PACKED with unique experiences:

🎻 Philharmonia Orchestra VR Experience – Dive into the music at Leicester from 1pm – 7pm.

🌈 The Holi Experience – Join Nupur Arts at the Clocktower for a colourful extravaganza at 6:30pm & 7:30pm.

👐 BSL Tour – Join our free British Sign Language tour of the festival, meeting at Town Hall Square Fountain at 5:45pm.

Well, what an opening night that was! ✨

Last night, we kicked off the festival in spectacular style with The Roots of Our Tree Young People’s Parade and Radiant Routes, lighting up the city with colour, creativity, and community spirit. Here’s a look at some of the magical moments from the opening night!

📅 The festival continues until Saturday 15 March, 6-10pm each evening, with 11 stunning illuminated installations and a packed programme of performances.

🚴 TONIGHT: Don’t miss the Illuminated Bike Parade! Join the glowing procession as it rides through the city, starting at the Town Hall Square from 6:30pm, with 'Bling your bike' workshops starting from 5pm! Or, just come along to watch and soak up the atmosphere!

🦊 Special guest alert! Leicester City Football Club’s very own Filbert Fox will be joining us for our first parade THIS WEEK to kick off the festival on Wednesday.

Hundreds of young people from across Leicester will take to the streets for this first parade of the week, celebrating the city’s diverse roots and cultures. Bringing metallic leaves which they've created, the young people will then display these as part of the installation 'The Roots of Our Tree'.
