Aaran Fleet is an organist, countertenor, pianist and composer, and currently holds the position of Organ Scholar at St German's Cathedral, Isle of Man. At the end of this academic year, he returns to the UK for undergraduate study at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a McDonald Foundation Scholarship.
Aaran's musical journey began in the choir of St Mary's Whitkirk, Leeds, where he sang as a treble and an alto for 6 and a half years before progressing on to the choirs and and music departments of Bradford Cathedral and Leeds Minster. He has completed A level studies in Music, English Literature and Philosophy, ethics and religion at York college and studied the organ under Alexander Woodrow and piano under Ben Cockburn. Aaran was the winner of Rothwell Music Festival's ' Leeds Orthodontics Trophy' and most recently, was successful in the Manx Music Festival's Advanced Organ Class, winning outstanding marks and the 'Pollard Trophy'.
On the Isle of Man, he has studied the organ under Dr Peter Litman and Harmony and Counterpoint with Prof. Lionel Pike in preparation for an ARCO diploma.
After achieving a Grade 8 organ distinction last year (142/150), Aaran has been named an Associate of the Guild of Musicians and Singers and is awaiting results on an ARSM Diploma, also in organ.
