Hear Charles Causley's poetry at Pete's Games, 3.30pm.

A lifelong resident of Launceston, Charles Causley grew up with the tales and folklore that clothe the town. Some of his most moving work describes relationships between the living and the dead, glimpses of past lives, stories shrouded in mystery, and deep fracture lines in places.

Join Dr David Devanny and Nicola Nuttall from the Charles Causley Trust, as they explore Charles's writing which was heavily influenced by his Cornish ancestry and lifelong interest in a county rooted in stories, myths and other-worldliness.

Venue: Pete's Place
Time: 3.30pm - 4.30pm
No need to book, just rock up

Due to the prediction of high winds and rain, some entertainment will be relocated from the Town Square to the town hall. The Cornish Myths & Legends Parade, Morris Dancing, and Ghost Tour meeting point will still go ahead outside. We will monitor the weather and give necessary updates via the board in the Town Square and at the Festival Information Stand in the Town Hall.

🎺 Leading the Cornish Myths & Legends Parade this Saturday… it’s the Kelliwik Golowi Band! 🎶

This lively group of around 25 musicians play Cornish and Celtic tunes – traditional and contemporary – bringing energy to many parades, concerts, Nos Lowen dances and community celebrations. All fees go straight to their favourite local charities ❤️

Witness the "KGB" as the parade sets off from Southgate Arch at 3pm and meanders the town's medieval streets toward the castle and on to the town square. The band will keep the music flowing until the morris dancing begins at 3.30pm.

Catch some KGB members again with the Launceston Slow & Easy Folk Sessions at Keep Audio Co. from 4.30pm!
