Remember at the start of the year when we asked our lovely local community to donate the Christmas decorations they no longer used?

Well… you certainly did! Our storage has looked like Santa’s attic ever since, and now it’s time to find a new home!

Come along to our Fundraising Christmas Decoration Sale and pick up some festive bargains — because apparently you can never have too many Christmas decorations… you just need a bigger loft! 🎅😂

Right folks… put the pots back in the cupboard — Gulnar is cooking on Monday 21st September! 😂

Enjoy their popular buffet, dessert and tea or coffee for just £20.40 per person, while supporting Dobbie Hall.

Basically, we’re asking you to help the hall by eating curry… finally, a fundraising challenge we can all fully commit to! 🤣

Thank you to everyone who has already registered to support Dobbie Hall Trust through easyfundraising — we really appreciate every single one of you!

This week, every share gives Dobbie Hall Trust an entry into a draw to win a £250 donation.

So we’re not asking you to climb a mountain, organiser 102 afternoon teas or even clean the Main Hall… just to give this post a wee share before Sunday 13th September! 😂😂

That £250 would be a lovely boost towards the running costs of our community hall. Thank you, as always, for supporting us.

Dobbie Hall’s timetable for the next few days is making us tired just reading it 😂

Thursday: Paracise classes with Kristy in Falkirk and Zumba Gold with Carol class ➡️ clean and reset ➡️ public meeting ➡️ clean again!

Friday: Paracise class ➡️ clean and reset ➡️ Afternoon Tea Dance ➡️ clean and reset ➡️ ceilidh ➡️ yes…clean again! 🧹

Saturday: Ceroc Scotland ➡️ you’ve guessed it…another clean and complete reset! 🕺

Sunday: The big clean-up and tables set for Monday.

Monday: Afternoon Tea Cinema Club 🍰🎬

Meanwhile, our smaller rooms will be busy with regular classes—because clearly the Main Hall timetable wasn’t enough 😂

By Monday evening, the chairs will have completed more miles than most cars, the tables will be entering witness protection and the staff will no longer know what day it is 🪑💪

A busy hall is a happy hall…even if the staff need a lie-down afterwards ❤️

THE SNOW QUEEN IS COMING TO DOBBIE HALL!

Oh yes she is! Although we’re hoping she doesn’t freeze the pipes or add any more drama to our heating bills… 🤣🤣🤣

Larbert Musical Theatre will be taking over Dobbie Hall this November with their traditional family pantomime, The Snow Queen! Expect plenty of laughs, music, magic and the compulsory shouting of “SHE’S BEHIND YOU!”

Do you use Dobbie Hall as your polling place?

Dobbie Hall has been used as a local polling place for a number of years, and Falkirk Council is currently carrying out a review of polling districts and polling places across the area.

As part of their review, they are looking at making better use of community venues like Dobbie Hall, helping to reduce the use of primary schools and temporary accommodation for elections.

If Dobbie Hall is where you normally go to vote, we’d really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the Council’s consultation and let them know your views.

We’re proud that the Hall can provide this important service for our local community — and your feedback really does matter.

What a transformation!

Our Lounge refurbishment is now complete—and the before-and-after photos show just how much it has changed!

Thanks to generous grant funding from Todhill Wind Farm we’ve redesigned the room to create a bigger and more flexible space. The refurbishment includes new flooring, fresh decoration, new blinds, energy-efficient LED lighting and a practical new sink area.

As a small charity, it was important that we kept the project within budget and made every penny of the funding count. A huge thank you to all the contractors involved, especially those who worked with us to find affordable solutions.

The Lounge is now brighter, more modern and ready to welcome our regular groups and future hirers.
