It's the big day folks... The first day of the walking festival....

And we have some advice for you...

Can everyone attending any of the walks please download WHAT 3 WORDS... if you haven't heard of it W3W is an app which gives you a 3 word code to pinpoint exactly where in the world something is.

So today's walks are Connecting the Benches and The Woodland Walk

If you click on the link at the bottom it'll take you to the pinned post where you can find a link to every walk and see where they start from.

We have provided one of these for every walk, so there shouldn't be anyone getting the meetup location wrong as we have had in the past occasionally.

Please remember to wear suitable footwear, bring some water with you and also maybe a wee snack if you think you'll need it.

Also the weather forecast isn't great for some days... So please check that the walk is still going ahead xx

End point of walk - Seafield Tower Distance of walk – 2 –3KM (Slow pace with few stops)

Duration of walk – 2hrs+ minutes (plus as other walkers might be slower than others)

Overview A gentle 2–3 km walk exploring the rich history and natural beauty of Seafield’s coastline. Starting near Roperie Walk and finishing at Seafield Tower, this slow-paced route invites reflection on the area’s heritage, wildlife and changing landscape.
Led by Sally Walsh of Seafield Environmental Group CIC, the walk offers moments of calm, connection and discovery, blending local stories with the wellbeing benefits of being outdoors. Child-friendly and dog-friendly (behaved dogs. This two-hour + walk encourages participants to appreciate both the past and the living coast that continues to shape our community.

Walk details

Starting at Fife college St brycedale campus the first breathing space bench to be installed in Kirkcaldy, then it's a wee short walk along to bench number 2 located within Beveridge Park, then it's a wander up Oriel Road along Dunnikier Way towards Dunnikier Country Park where we will finish at bench number 3.

We will stick to the main roads so there is access to local bus routes should anyone want to cut the walk short.

Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for all weather types, bring water and refreshments for your walk.

Starting at the Heart of Kirkcaldy, we will walk to the other end of the prom then back... The objective is to walk is to do “laps” of the prom and see how many you can fit into the time frame. You can at any point “tap out and tap back in” if you need the toilet or some food or even a wee break... So something a bit different.
