I've seen quite a few people talking on a post, so I'm happy to explain where your money goes when competing, please be ensured, this is genuinely a labour of love, and not a profitable business.
People have been wondering why comps don't do cash prizes and why do they have to pay an entrance fee even if they are not successful into the final.
π Firstly I must spend around 700-800 hours organising this competition, and unfortunately, no I don't pay myself for all those hours I am working.
π Venue, I have to pay for venue hire, someone to put the poles up and down, use of lighting, audio equipment, the staff (who are on the door and bar.) rooms for competitors and judges to use as changing rooms
πInsurance for the day.
π Judges to perform/travel expenses and hotels.
π Compere for the day
π Prizes (ill take this time to say that not all of these are from sponsors and I do spend a lot of my time sourcing and buying or making other gifts/prizes.)
π Drinks and food for the helpers for the day.
π Medals for all competitors
π Sashes and tiaras for winners and runners up π Special awards trophy's and Lauren red devil awards.
π Stationary costs for printing out score sheets, pens and other paper required.
π Certificate printing
π Cost of pole cleaning items such as cloths and cleaning solution
There is probably more I've missed but i hope this gives a little insight into how much comp owners have to pay out and where, and as you all know, the cost of everything increases each year.
so please be kind to competition organisers as you have no idea the work we put in behind the scenes to run a comp for you,it really is a labour of love π
I wholeheartedly love running this competition and I'm always so grateful for this opportunity from Lisa (the previous owner)
But Im always open to take on any requests, or 'can you do this' because I run this competition for you, the public entering π
Thank you to everyone who has entered so far, I'm always in awe of you all! π
