Hello everyone, as you will have all seen from 19th July Covid/Corona restrictions are lifted across England meaning its now financially viable for O'Rileys to re-open.
Obviously the pandemic is still going on and everyone needs to keep this in mind, as a venue we don't feel its up to us to tell you how you should live your life but we do feel we need to keep in mind that not everyone will feel the same way about things re-opening. So please BE KIND & RESPECTFUL to the other customers, staff & musicians when you come to the venue.
We are NOT going to insist on people wearing face coverings but if you feel more comfortable wearing them in the venue, crack on, its your choice and we won't stand anyone saying otherwise.
We are NOT going to insist you have been vaccinated/have proof you are Covid negative but if you are great stuff and again please respect other people views on this matter. Also if you have any symptoms/worries that you might have Covid please give your night out a miss to protect others.
We will not have social distancing/seated gigs/table service but since we are a pretty large venue you should be able to move around without encroaching on other people's personal space too much and again please respect other people's choices & views on this.
We will have lots of hand sanitiser around the venue, at the door, on the bar in the toilets (which have been refurbished by the way) and please feel free to use it to help protect yourself & others. As always we will clean the venue with anti-bacterial cleaner before opening for each event.
If while at the venue you feel uncomfortable for any reason please speak to a member of staff and we will try to help.
Ok, after all that here comes the happier news, our toilets have been refurbished, no more concrete floors, we have a new digital mixing desk, our leaky roof has been fixed, we've given the place a lick of paint and more importantly nearly every Firday & Saturday until Christmas we have events booked as well as on a lot of Sundays.
Myself, the staff & bands can't wait to get back to real life gigs and to welcome you all back, cheers Darren
ps special thanks to everyone who has contributed to the venue's survival by donating cash on our Patreon & Crowdfunder, who have bought merch and advance tickets or not taken refunds when gigs have been moved. Without this it would have been a lot harder being in a place to re-open on the 23rd July (our first gig back).
