and there it was, gone. Another Cottingham Springfest Music Festival done and dusted.
I just want to extend my thanks, gratitude and admiration to all the wonderful stage curators/organisers and their hard working teams who we couldn't be with out. Your dedication to the festival has been incredible.
I also need to thank all venues and the staff for ensuring we were welcomed, looked after and safe. I know it's your job but it is a challeging weekend especially working in such heat.
Even more praise, thanks, gratitude and admiration goes to Karen Smiles-McCune. In the past 4 years you have been there by my side, every step of the way, trying to make sure I'm not taking on too much. Thank you soo much.
To all the musicians: every last one of you are amazing. It's a pleasure to make sure you have a platform to show people your passion and ability. We have such a diverse and talented music commmunity that needs to be appreciated and supported, weekends like this prove it is needed and deserved.
Huge thanks go to Warren Records, Scott Langthorp for an excellent first stage at this festival, at the Cottingham Civic Hall. Huge thanks to Fast & Bulbous and Paul John Sarel for their stage and stage manager Vikki at King William IV - Cottingham and thanks to Humber Wave Radio also at King William IV too.
Special thanks goes to Chris Broadwell for his superb work on the courtyard stage, building the stage, for the sound and his general calm management. You made my life so much easier, thank you and the same extends to Daniel Kelsey for managing the sound at King William IV. I am lucky to have you both as part of the team.
Thank you to our sponsors Scribes Sally Morton and Carl Morton to Hull What's On. We love you.
A very special thank you to my partner Leanne Cass who designed the programme, posters and logos. You have done a fantastic job and had to put up with me before/during and after so thank you.
Finally, I would like to say how wonderful our audiences were, creating lovely vibes and showing love to us for putting the festival on.
Sorry if I have forgotten anyone.
Right, I will leave you with one of my favourite performances of the weekend, Matt Edible and the Obtuse Angels. Enjoy and see you next year.
