What an incredible afternoon we had yesterday!
It seemed like Ladies’ Day, and the club was packed, to pay homage to the legend that is George Michael, portrayed by the wonderful tribute artist Randall Butler.
The afternoon was filled with some truly special moments. One of our newcomers had tears in her eyes as she thanked us for helping her relive her youth. She had celebrated her 62nd birthday just last week and told us she was only 18 when she first fell in love with George Michael.
Another lady proudly told us she was George’s biggest fan — so much so that she even named her dog George!
You could genuinely feel the love in the room as Randall performed hit after hit, taking us all back to those unforgettable days of the 1980s. Everyone seemed to know every single word, singing, dancing and reliving the music of a true legend.
And Randall clearly loved every minute too — performing for a good 20 minutes beyond his scheduled time! Thank you, Randall, for such a wonderful performance and for creating an afternoon that felt much more like a celebration.
As you so beautifully put it: “God bless you, George.”
And we were doubly blessed because we also had our local girl Leah performing in the dance spot — and WOW, has this girl come on!
Leah was absolutely on top form. Everyone loved her, and it was fantastic to hear a female vocalist taking on some of the massive hits made famous by female icons. She has the voice, the power and the presence to tackle those big Aretha Franklin and Adele songs — and WOW, did she deliver!
A standing ovation was the perfect way to bring a fantastic afternoon to a close. Thank you, Leah. We’ll definitely be seeing you again soon!
