Having sold out the Wigmore Hall for a recent series of eight concerts featuring the complete Beethoven piano sonatas, Boris Giltburg brings his sensational artistry to King’s Lynn just days before taking to the stage (with his festival programme) at the Wigmore once again. Giltburg’s programme opens with Busoni’s extraordinary transcription of Bach’s celebrated Chaconne in D minor for solo violin. Equally free is Liszt’s treatment of the form in his incomparable Sonata in B minor. Rachmaninov’s Preludes bring late Russian romanticism to the party and an enchanted world of fairies, demons, and ghosts appears in Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit. Here, a combination of art and artistry not to be missed!

Frequenting some of the most distinguished concert and opera stages of the world, baritone Roderick Williams makes his second appearance on our festival stage! With his frequent recital partner, pianist Iain Burnside, the pair present a programme abounding in character, imagination, and storytelling. The evening’s songbook includes works by well-loved and celebrated composers including Bliss, Holst, Howells, and some-time festival supporter Vaughan Williams. Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective 🎻

The clarinet quintet of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Brahms' late autumnal masterpiece for the same instruments are at their best in the hands of this dynamic quintet, both works offering an utterly compelling musical texture. The Wigmore Hall's artists in residence open the programme with Schubert's charming single movement string trio.
