On Sunday, Roots Micro Pub closed its doors for the last time.
John and Teresa created something genuinely special in the heart of Kimberley. In a town that benefits enormously from places where people can come together, Roots stood out for its warmth, kindness and inclusivity. Everyone was welcome, nobody was judged, and people from all walks of life could feel at home there.
The Kimberley Jam was always about bringing people together through music and celebration, and places like Roots helped make that possible.
Having a friendly and welcoming micropub like Roots was a real boon to Kimberley, and it was truly unique. At a time when too many places seem to thrive on division and resentment, Roots stood for the opposite. It brought people together.
John and Teresa's contribution to this town won't be forgotten in many a long year.
Thank you both for everything you've done, and good luck in whatever comes next. Whatever it is, we're sure it will contain the same warmth, joy and kindness you've shared with so many others.
Thanks for the memories. β€οΈπΆπ»
