This year's conference will explore the survival of magic and the sacred at the crossroads. We will explore concepts such as diffusion, acculturation, and the evolution of magical practices, folklore, and spiritualities across territory and time.

We will explore travelling deities, shapeshifters, guardian spirits of travellers, and possible traditions born from converging spiritualities.

Of course, we will also explore survival as a key theme: the survival of gods and other immortal spirits. We will explore the multiple aspects of spirits, their adaptation, perhaps in new territories.

THE MIST AND THE STONES CONFERENCE
A covenant of the Occult, Folk, Magical, and
Ancestral in Scotland.

As we advanced last year, our Ancestral Pathways Conference expanded to a Live Event that we will host every two years. This year, we are hosting the first of these Live Events in Scotland!

As if you needed an excuse to visit this magical land!

This conference is a Covenant that aims to be a gathering for anyone interested in Occult, Folk, Magical, Spirit, the Ancestral heritage, and the Sacred in Alba.

This is an invitation to the Occult, Folk, and Magical community in Scotland, as well as to local organisations wishing to share with us!

The conference is a non-denominational event open to anyone from any spiritual background, making it the first Interfaith Event of this kind in Scotland.

"Hel the Dark Goddess". With Thea Prothero.

Thea Prothero is a Heathen and a pilgrim. Her first book, A Guide to Pilgrimage was published by Moon Books at the end of 2024, As you would expect, she spends most of her free time walking in the wildest remotest lands, places that still make the gods tremble, and she loves the challenge of finding connection through nature to the divine.

Thea is currently studying an MLITT in Viking Studies with The University of Highlands and Islands and her second book, Heathenry for the Solitary Practitioner is due to be published in 2026.

"Walking the Deer Trails: A Journey with the Dark Spirits of the Appalachia". With Katelyn Dawn.

Katelyn Dawn is a writer, podcaster, High Priestess, and Second Degree Druid. Specializing in Folk Magick, she teaches Pagan workshops and is deeply committed to fostering inclusive and accessible Pagan outreach and educational initiatives. In addition to her professional endeavors, Katelyn actively contributes to the local Unitarian Universalist congregation by helping facilitate earth-centered programs and classes.

"The Dark Goddess: The Ultimate Feminist". With Ashley Oppon.

Ashley Oppon is Shamanic Practitioner, Death Midwife and RN at Sankofa Healing Sanctuary. For 5 years she studied to become a Shamanic Practitioner and now she works healing and helping others working on their spiritual lives. She is also a Home Funeral Guide, and an advocate for Medical Aid in Dying and Green and Natural Burials. With her death work she hopes to make the dying process a safe space for grief and healing. She also hosts Dine with the Divine, a podcast focused on culture, mythology and history. You can find her gardening, crafting and working as an oncology nurse.

In her own words: I have been writing and presenting since the early 2000s. My most recent book, Travel Magic, blends the art of travel with magical practice; how to stay spiritually grounded while on the road or aloft in the sky, how to feel at home while away. "Dark Magick, Divine Light and our Future" with Rev. Aaron Davies and La Sirena Selene.

Reverend Dr. Aaron Davis is a native son of Albany, New York. He has been supporting the Christian ministry since 1996, and it was during this time that he recognised the call from his ancestors growing louder. This led to discovering his ancestral home in the African-derived tradition of Lucumi and the related practice of Espiritismo. These traditions established the ancestral connection and also taught a healthy reverence for all the forces of nature known as Orisha. Reverend Dr. Aaron Davis. is also a passionate student of the Solomonic and Greek Magical Papyri traditions. Reverend Dr. Aaron Davis has developed a curriculum and teaches on rootworking on his own website at Soulful Santero University, as well as through The Blackthorne School.

As a young child, La Sirena Selene was introduced to a tarot deck, meditation tapes, and crystals by her beloved third and fourth-grade teacher. Being from a Mediterranean family, which was built on superstitions and folklore traditions from the culture, Selene was immediately drawn to these oddities. This had caused her to begin her studies in various occult topics. La Sirena Selene co-teaches as well as develops her curriculum and instructs at Soulful Santero University, and can be contacted for readings on her website, Blue Tiger's Eye Tarot.
