πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys are headlining our Main Stage on Sunday 20th June 2027 ❀️

This will be their third appearance at Beardy Folk 🀩

Sam Kelly has gained a reputation as one of the finest singers to come out of the UK folk scene in recent years - being described by legendary broadcaster Mike Harding as 'one of my favourite singers ever'. He has pulled together some of the most innovative musicians the UK has to offer to form a genre-defying line-up that seamlessly pulls together traditional folk ballads and tunes, heavy rock-tinged Americana and blues, beautiful original music, plus the occasional surprise cover.

Equally at home in front of any kind of audience, the Lost Boys seem to earn a multitude of die-hard new fans at every show. It is no surprise that the band's 2017 debut record, Pretty Peggy, landed them multiple plays on national radio, was sound-tracked on Sky Sports, Sky Arts and Channel 4, playlisted by Cafe Nero, British Airways, Spotify and Deezer, and earned them a nomination for Best Group at the 2018 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. With the critically acclaimed 2021 release 'The Wishing Tree' and 2025’s 'Dreamers Dawn', the band has cemented its place at the forefront of modern folk music innovation both in the studio, and on the live stage.

There is a reason that Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys repeatedly have the longest merch queues, the wildest audience reactions, and one of the busiest festival calendars of any UK band, and their high-octane remodelling of how folk music can be played is leading the band from strength to strength, with the sky seemingly the limit. Expect to hear soaring harmonies and instrumental performances of the highest calibre, infused with an infectious exuberance that leaves crowds everywhere screaming for more.

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Sam Draisey is playing our Acoustic Stage on Saturday 19th June 2027 ❀️

This will be his first appearance at Beardy Folk 🀩

Given one word to describe his music, Sam Draisey will always choose 'honest'. Whether it's politics, family, solidarity or heartache, Sam's folk-punk style will leave you in no doubt as to where he stands on the subject. Influenced by the likes of Billy Bragg, Damien Rice and Cat Stevens, Sam has been plying his trade all over the country on the independent festival circuit and beyond.

"Hey, this is a real passionate guy, sometimes he shouts, sometimes he whispers but this is deep and absolutely mesmerising from start to finish."
Nick J. Townsend, Ryan's Gig Guide.

"Wolverhampton's Sam Draisey hides a deceptively powerful voice inside his slender frame. He sounds a tad like an angtsy James Blunt when aiming high and a young Brian Molko when sinking low. Quite a combination, eh? The soft anarchy that flows through some of his tracks is a joy to hear."
Leigh Sanders, The Express & Star.

"A stunning performance."
Andy O'Hare, BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcestershire.

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Holly Clarke is playing our Acoustic Stage on Friday 18th June 2027 ❀️

This will be her first appearance at Beardy Folk 🀩

Holly Clarke is a singer who draws from the old ballads and stories, conjuring a performance that immediately captivates any listener. From songs of the supernatural and folklore, to the tales of love and loss, Holly sings with an infectious energy and passion for traditional song.

She is also a strong composer in her own right, with her tune compositions being performed by Norwegian Hardanger Fiddle legend AnnbjΓΈrg Lien and Shetland’s very own Catriona Macdonald.

Holly also appears a duo with George Sansome (Granny’s Attic), with the band RE:VULVA (Amy Thatcher, Janice Burns, Cathy Geldard) and gigs with the trio β€˜Holly and the Reivers’, featuring Bertie Armstrong (Banjo and Voice) and Merle Harbron (Fiddle and Voice), with whom she supported the legendary Billy Bragg at Folk on the Tyne Festival.

"Holly is the possessor of a seemingly effortless and transporting folk voice which is perfectly suited to her broad and deeply thought-out repertoire, and is an enviably confident and skilled instrumentalist."
Nancy Kerr

"Holly Clarke has a captivating voice, sweet and sure, it draws you in until you've got no option but surrender. She absolutely blew me away, genuinely can't remember the last time I was this impressed with a new artist."

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce The Deep Blue are playing our Main Stage on Sunday 20th June 2027 ❀️

They first appeared at Beardy Folk in 2024 🀩

The Deep Blue seamlessly blend rebellious lyricism with hypnotic harmonies, captivating audiences since their breakthrough in 2021.

With three sparkling UK tours under their belt, selling out 9 headline shows (including London's Camden Assembly & Manchester's YES Pink Room) and receiving some meaty airtime on BBC Radio, The Deep Blue looked right at home on the Glastonbury Avalon stage in 2024.

Fresh off a UK, Ireland, and Europe support tour with The Waterboys, this band is on a journey that knows no bounds! Underneath all that though they’re just four best friends who love each other and creating things.

β€œIt feels like it’s getting harder to set oneself apart these days, but The Deep Blue have done it, introducing themselves with a refreshing folk/pop sound that recalls the likes of Fleetwood Mac, HAIM and The Staves, while being something altogether new.”
Atwood Magazine

"Floating instantly with three-part harmonies, The Deep Blue demands your attention with their unique blend of dream-pop and indie folk."

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Hase Waits are playing our Main Stage on Friday 18th June 2027 ❀️

We're delighted to welcome them back after their stellar performance on the Acoustic Stage in 2025 🀩

Hase Waits are an innovative folk music group that bridge the gap between tradition and modernity through their enchanting blend of traditional instrumental music. They create a sound which shows a profound respect for the musical heritage they embody.

The band's name is formed of two words - β€˜Hase’ being the name in the Domesday Book of the town where the band was formed and β€˜Waits’ the name town musicians were called in medieval times.

Whether playing intimate venues or larger festival stages, the band captivates audiences with their infectious energy, beautiful harmonies and atypical instrumentation. They create a tapestry of rhythms that transport audiences to another time.

Hase Waits are sisters – Hannah Bainton & Heather Thomas (flute/low whistle), Phil Ball (fiddle), James Thomas (guitar/hurdy-gurdy), Luke Hirst (bass) and Gary Hammond (percussion).

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Gaz Brookfield and The Company Of Thieves are playing our Main Stage on Saturday 19th June 2027 ❀️

This will be the first time Gaz has appeared at Beardy Folk with his full band 🀩

West country based, Gaz Brookfield is an award winning acoustic musician, with two number one albums to his name.

He has spent the last fifteen years tirelessly touring all over the UK and beyond, building a strong and loyal following wherever he goes.

He was the first independent musician to sell out Bristol’s, The Fleece, (450 cap), and The Bierkeller, (750 cap) and more recently, SWX, (1000 cap).

Gaz has an impressive ten album strong back catalogue. In the autumn of 2023, Gaz's ninth album, 'Morning Walking Club', saw him achieve his first number one in the Official UK Folk Albums Chart.

He got his second number one album in September 2025, when 'Waiting for Wisdom' topped the Official UK Download Charts.

Not a bad result for this fiercely independent musician, with no record label, no manager, no agent - just a guitar, a van, and a steadfastly belligerent refusal to give in.

Join him and his band, The Company of Thieves at Beardy Folk on Saturday June 19th.

πŸ”₯ CONFIRMED πŸ”₯ We're excited to announce Trevor Babajack Steger is playing our Acoustic Stage on Friday 18th June 2027 ❀️

Trevor Babajack Steger is an award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a string of accolades, chart-topping albums, and sold-out shows across the UK and Europe.

His music has been championed by Cerys Matthews on BBC Radio 2 and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, with airplay on countless stations worldwide.

Trevor’s sound is impossible to pin down. At first glance, "Acoustic Blues" might seem fitting, but it barely scratches the surface. His raw, ferocious energy, growling vocals, and masterful musicianship on harmonica, National guitar, lap steel, and more create a sound that defies categorization. Some call it Punk Blues, Swamp, Power Acoustic, Raw Roots, but none quite capture it. Think Tom Waits meets Sonny Terry, with guitar chops that rival the best in blues, folk, Americana, and beyond. His music shifts effortlessly from haunting and atmospheric to gritty and foot-stomping, demanding to be experienced live.

"One of our finest and most original bluesmen."
Blues in Britain

"Master craftsman."
