Showtime Novice Cup – The Final (Pt2)
This time following the close of Gleniffer Championship Show it was the turn of the small and intermediate dogs to show what they could do. Our Judge was again Emma Pirrie. Emma gave herself quite a task to set a course to match the one for the medium and large dogs at Dundee. A quick walk of her course before the start showed she had surpassed herself with a smooth, fast and flowing course.
It was the turn of the small dogs to run first and just a few dogs in, it was obvious we were in for something very special. The sheer pace and skills demonstrated, were a treat to watch. The scene was now set; it was down to the intermediate dogs to match that! - It was soon apparent that the intermediate dogs and handlers were very much up to the challenge with run after run of pure excellence.
The very supportive crowd around the ring appreciated and applauded round after round of pure class. The superb and exciting atmosphere around the rings was exactly what we want this series to be about so thank you one and all.
Many congratulations to everyone who qualified, you were all winners. But special congratulation must go to our small winner –
Mandy Rough with her crossbreed Frason Dare to be Epic (Epic) and runner up Ava Ogston with her working cocker Glenheart Gossip Girl AW(B) (Jelly).
Intermediate winner – Ollie Turnbull with her Border Collie Montaki Dare to be Wild AW(S) (Jam) and runner up Aly Gilchrist with her Border Collie Comebyanaway Brave Lass (Keira).
Sooo… Two very fast Border Collies take the intermediate class but how did they fare against the small winner? The small takes it by 00.605sec on a fast open course. Just wow – and that comes from a Collie runner 😉
