May has been a jam‑packed month. There have been ultras in the mountains, around Coventry, and to the sea; club‑led trail runs; league races; half marathons; 10Ks; and marathons.
Highlights include mum‑and‑son adventurers Helen B and Ryan running the Duckeries as their first 40‑mile ultra — a circular loop in Sherwood Forest on forest trails and footpaths. Ryan came 2nd, and then, seven days later, followed that with 3rd place at the Worcester
10K. Dewi ran a windy and wet 100K Ultra Trail Snowdon with 5,400 m+ of height gain, and Emma and Saz completed an 80K variation. Sue M ran to the sea in Brighton and was first in her age category. Ewan dressed as a crab to run three marathons in three days, raising awareness and money for Alzheimer’s.
There was a new PB for Brendon at the Birmingham Half; a hilly half at Market Harborough for Neill B; Mark R added Birmingham and Exeter to his 10K collection; Ian H enjoyed the Chester Half; and Richard B and C joined Andy S and Colin for a Coventry Way route adventure. Team Green also ran the Ryton 5 — the second WRRL race — and the 3rd EMGP Banbury 5.
All this and more, alongside our club‑run staples throughout the week.
