If you fancy a few days in the most beautiful English countryside, deep reflection about what is most important and making new friends in fun and innovative ways it might be for you. Contact William if you want to talk this through.
Ideal of course for those of us who don't want to be flying off anywhere this year.

A five-day gathering on a hilltop near Bath. Three days of reflection, connection and shared life for the Life Itself community, with a midsummer celebration on Saturday open to a wider circle.

Two terrific gigs coming up at Roundhill Barn 11 and 12 July:

11 July Three Cane Whale - https://www.threecanewhale.com - described as "one of the finest, most interesting, most innovative folk bands around" by Bristol 24/7, were the first band to play Roundhill Barn, they perfectly embody the spirit of the place, and they're back with a new album. Catering profits go to Merigwet primary school in Laikipia county, Kenya. Details and tickets here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/kelstonrecordslimited/1667817

12 July the sensational Fairfield House Ethio Jazz Project plays. Musical director Ross Hughes has added the exceptional talents of Adrian Utley and Will Gregory to what was already a storming lineup. This will be a memorable West Country tribute to our most famous local resident HIM Emperor Haile Selassie I, recorded live as a benefit for House, Home of HIM Emperor Haile Selassie. Ethiopian feast available on the night.

We’ve hosted three funerals now at Roundhill Barn. It’s just transformative; entirely different from the usual offerings. The remoteness and sense of peace and open ended time create a special atmosphere for intense memorial events. We’ve worked it all through with Filippa at BathFuneralDirectors in Twerton; she’s now ready to offer funerals here. We’d welcome others.

As it happens, Roundhill Barn is configured and laid out very much like an English church. The coffin can enter the main entrance on the south side, and be carried off towards the setting sun in the west, entirely in the ancient tradition. The interior of the barn has the feeling of a secular chapel, without any religious or municipal clutter.

We’re happy to work with any other sympathetic, contemporary local independent funeral directors who put the bereaved customer first and are flexible enough to offer them what they want at an affordable price. We won’t have anything to do with that culture of “upselling on instructions from head office” which seems to prevail in the mainstream funeral services duopoly (insiders know what we’re talking about).

Take your time. Save your money. Do it right. Funerals are important.
