This weeks Khutbah at Murrayside:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, who made commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong among the greatest matters in the religion, and through it He rectifies the condition of the people as a whole, and I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, the one who conveyed what was revealed to him from his Lord, and who guided the worlds, may Allah send His prayers and peace upon him, and upon his family and all of his companions, who were truthful in the truth and strove in the path of Allah with true striving.

As for what follows,

Allah the Most High has said, "Let there arise from among you a community who call to goodness, command what is right, and forbid what is wrong, and they are the successful ones", and He has also said, "The believing men and believing women are allies of one another, they command what is right and forbid what is wrong."

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand, and if he is unable then with his tongue, and if he is unable then with his heart, and that is the weakest level of faith."

And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The example of those who uphold the limits set by Allah and those who fall into them is like a group of people who boarded a ship, some of them occupying the upper deck and some the lower deck. When those below needed water, they would have to pass by those above, so they said, if we were to make a hole in our own section, we would not trouble those above us. If the people above leave them to do what they intend, all of them will perish, but if they stop them, all of them will be saved."

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "When a sin is committed on the earth, whoever dislikes it and rejects it is like one who was absent from it, and whoever is pleased with it is like one who was present and took part in it."

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that Allah revealed to Jibril, peace be upon him, "Turn such and such a town upside down upon its people." Jibril said, "My Lord, among them is Your servant who has never disobeyed You even for the blink of an eye." Allah said, "Begin with him, for his face never changed with anger for My sake."

So seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.

"Hold to forgiveness, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant."

What a wonderful morning at Christchurch Park. More than 1,000 people from across Suffolk came together to mark Eid al Adha with prayers, reflection and community spirit.

Eid al Adha is one of the most important festivals in Islam, centred around faith, charity, sacrifice and caring for others. It was lovely to see people from all backgrounds coming together in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We are also proud to share that more than £1,000 was raised for local charity Survivors in Transition, supporting young survivors of sexual abuse across Suffolk.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and helped make the morning so special.

27/05/2026

We urge everyone to get to Christchurch Park before 10:00 am Insha'Allah.

This weeks Khutbah at Murrayside:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, whose favour cannot be fully counted or repaid, and whose blessings cannot be completely enumerated, and I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, the one to whom the Sunnah was revealed, may Allah send His prayers and peace upon him, and upon his family and companions, those who followed the truth and guided us to it.

As for what follows,

Indeed among the virtuous days are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, and among the greatest acts of worship in them are fasting, prayer, remembrance of Allah, and every righteous deed, and among them is the fasting of the ninth day, the Day of Arafah, concerning which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that there are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than the ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

And whoever fasts each day of them, it is as though he fasted a whole year, and stood each night of them in prayer, and among them is Laylatul Qadr, and among them is the fast of the Day of Arafah, regarding which he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that fasting the Day of Arafah, seeking reward from Allah, expiates the sins of the previous year and the year that follows.

And among them is abundant takbir and glorification of Allah, and Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, would say takbir from the Fajr prayer on the Day of Arafah until the Asr prayer of the final day of Tashreeq, and he would continue saying takbir after the prayers.

And among the virtuous deeds in them is reviving the night of Eid with prayer, remembrance, and khutbah, and helping one another upon goodness, and increasing in charity and kindness to relatives, and making matters easy for one another.

And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would go out on the Day of Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha.

So seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, by the dawn, and the ten nights, and the even and the odd.

Todays Khutbah at Murrayside (English Translation):

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, who made commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong among the greatest matters of religion, and through it He rectifies the condition of the people altogether, and I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, the one who conveyed what was sent down to him from his Lord, may Allah send His prayers and peace upon him, and upon his family and companions altogether.

As for what follows,

Indeed Allah the Most High has said, let there arise from among you a nation who call to goodness, and command what is right, and forbid what is wrong, and they are the successful ones, and the Most High has said that the believing men and believing women are allies of one another, they command what is right and forbid what is wrong.

And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that whoever among you sees an evil, then let him change it with his hand, and if he is unable, then with his tongue, and if he is unable, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that the example of the one who upholds the limits of Allah, and the one who falls into them, is like a people who boarded a ship, some of them above and some below, then those below would pass by those above for water, so they said that if we were to make a hole in our portion, we would not disturb those above us, so if they leave them to what they intend, all of them will be destroyed, and if they stop them, all of them will be saved.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that if sin appears openly in the land, then whoever rejects it is like the one who was absent from it, and whoever is pleased with it is like the one who witnessed it.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that Allah revealed to Jibreel, peace be upon him, to overturn a town upon its people, so he said, O Lord, among them is Your servant who never disobeyed You for even the blink of an eye, so Allah said, begin with him, for his face never changed with anger for My sake.

So seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, take to forgiveness, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant.

Todays Khutbah at Murrayside (English Translation):

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, who made the Sacred House a place of return for the people, and a place of safety, and a source of reward for those who visit it, and a purification for them, and I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, His chosen one and the master of the Ummah, may Allah send His prayers and peace upon him, and upon his family and companions, the leaders of truth and guides of creation.

As for what follows,

Allah the Most High has said, and complete the Hajj and the Umrah for Allah, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that Hajj is known months, and whoever undertakes Hajj in them, then there is to be no obscenity, nor wrongdoing, nor arguing during Hajj, and Allah the Most High has said that Hajj to the House is a duty owed to Allah by the people, for whoever is able to find a way to it.

And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said that whoever is prevented from Hajj by a clear excuse, or by illness, or by a tyrannical ruler, and he does not perform Hajj, then let him die if he wishes as a Jew or a Christian, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah and does not engage in obscenity or wrongdoing, he returns like the day his mother gave birth to him.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that the reward of an accepted Hajj is nothing but Paradise.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that following up between Hajj and Umrah removes poverty and sins, just as the bellows removes impurities from iron.

So increase in remembrance of Allah, and prepare yourselves for Hajj, and purify your intentions, and make your provision lawful, and be mindful of your conduct, for indeed Hajj is a great act of worship, and its reward is immense for the one whose intention is sincere and whose actions are upright.

And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said that whoever intends Hajj, then let him hasten, for one of you does not know what may come upon him.

So seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, and call the people to Hajj, they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, coming from every distant path.
