📢 HALL RENOVATIONS UPDATE 📢

We wanted to share a further update with everyone regarding the ongoing hall renovations.

Unfortunately, the hall will not be reopening this month as we had originally hoped. We understand there has been some speculation about the progress, and we want to reassure everyone that we are doing everything possible to get the hall back up and running.

However, the situation has not been as straightforward as expected. A number of unforeseen issues have arisen during the works, and as a result, our case has now been escalated to the Complaints Department due to the complications encountered.

At this stage, we are not in a position to provide a confirmed reopening date.

On a positive note, the new flooring is being installed this week, and we are hopeful this will allow other elements of the project to start progressing more smoothly.

We will continue to keep you updated as things move forward and sincerely apologise for the ongoing delays. This is not the experience we had hoped for, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

🚨 We Need Your Help to Save Our Community Hall! 🚨

For over 40 years, Culcabock & Drakies Community Hall has been the heart of our community - hosting play group, youth clubs, fitness classes, social groups and children's birthday parties.

Sadly, the hall has been closed to new bookings for nearly a year due to serious disrepair. We’ve replaced the roof and guttering system, and started internal upgrades, but urgent external works to stop damp must be completed before we can reopen.
And we’re not stopping there! With your support, we’ll move into Phase Two: installing new doors, windows, and a modern heating system to make the hall more energy-efficient and sustainable for the future.

📣 Community Update – Hall Renovations

We wanted to share an important update regarding our hall renovations. Unfortunately, works have been delayed due to unexpected external moisture entering the building. This issue needs to be fully resolved before any internal renovations can safely continue.

As a result, the reopening of the hall will be delayed. We know how disappointing this is, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges.

At this stage, we’re unable to accept any bookings until Spring 2026.

🎉 Celebrating 40 Years of Our Community Hall 🏡✨

Today marks 40 wonderful years since our beloved community hall first opened its doors. This space has hosted playgroup, countless events, celebrations, fundraisers, and memories — truly becoming the heart of our community.

We’d like to take a special moment to honour the dedication and vision of the late Janet Home, who sadly passed away in October 2024. Without Janet’s hard work and commitment all those years ago, this hall simply wouldn’t be here today. 💛

As we look ahead, we’re excited about the ongoing renovations and improvements. With a bit of care and community spirit, we hope this hall will continue to serve generations for another 40 years (and beyond!).

📢 Just a reminder to all 📢

The Hall is closed as of TODAY to start the renovations!

🚫 Please do NOT park in the car park at any time.
There will be skips, trades vehicles and other works going on, so for everyone’s safety, no vehicles should be parked there.

Please remember — the car park is for Hall use only, so for the time being, the only vehicles allowed will be those belonging to the trades.

📢 Important Update – Hall Closure

We’re pleased to share that refurbishment works at Culcabock & Drakies Community Hall will begin on Monday, 13th October. This means the hall will be closed from that date to everyone.

The repairs are essential to tackle serious damp and mould issues, ensuring the hall is safe and welcoming for the future. We know this is shorter notice than we had hoped to give, and we’re very sorry for any disruption caused.

📣 Important Notice – Car Park Closure

Dear Residents,

Please be advised that from the week commencing Monday, 7th July, tradesmen will be on-site at Culcabock & Drakies Hall to carry out essential roof and guttering repairs.

🚧 Scaffolding will be erected around the entire building, and skips will be placed in the car park.

🚗 Access to the entire car park will be required by the trades, so we kindly ask all residents NOT to use the car park during this one week period.

This is for everyone’s safety and to allow the works to proceed without delay.
