We’ve finally got round to setting up our YouTube channel! 🎥

Our first video is now live, and we’ve also put together a few playlists featuring films created by some of our riders from trips over the years.

If you get a minute, head over and give the video a watch. If you enjoy it, a like, comment, or subscribe really helps the channel grow.

What is RSR to you?

RSR is more than a rally - it’s a community built on challenge, support and shared adventure. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone, challenged and inspired me, and connected me with incredible people. The miles are hard, but it’s the shared struggle, the growth and the friendships along the way that make it truly special. One of the best adventures I’ve ever taken on.

I nominate

About John:

Cycling has always been a big part of John’s life. From guiding others on two wheels to now escaping into the wild with friends, he’s always up for the next adventure. And if you’re after a good laugh along the way - John’s your man. We’re lucky to have legends like John in the RSR crew.

The Spine Rally, Edinburgh to Inverness – 10th-16th May 2026

Roam Scotland Rally is a 7-day self-supported group bikepacking ride from Edinburgh to Inverness, up the spine of scotland. The main ‘rugged’ route is 660km, 8,540m of climbing and 50% off-road. The less tough ‘rolling’ route is 457km, 5870m and 43% off-road.

The Rally follows the format established by the ‘It’s not a race, just a challenge to finish and a question of what to ride and where to focus your efforts’. Riders go at their own pace, with others or solo.

Entry is free, with a voluntary donation to our charitable bikepacking society if you can afford it. You’ll receive a detailed ride guide with interesting detour options, a vague suggestion of where to aim for each day and a supportive Whatsapp group.

We also have a few spaces left for our week long rally in May. It would be good to see some new faces there too.

FAR NORTH RALLY RIDE 2025

This year the ride will be a bit different. The far north has limited accommodation options, so we strongly recommend camping or bivvy equipment. Distances between food stops can be long. The weather can be very wild. So... you'll have to carry more weight throughout, likely making the ride a bit tougher.

The North Coast 500 road route is often dangerous for cycling, so we've tried to minimise time on these roads. We have a 'hub & spoke design'. Riders have route choices to make: ride the hub only or choose as many of the out & back spokes as you want.
Starting and finishing in Inverness. To celebrate our return, we have the Black Isle Brewery hostel lined up just for us with the bar just around the corner.

To enter for free, or with a donation:
