The team at Ilkley Cycle Races are saddened to hear of the passing of Larry Hickmott, a true stalwart of the British cycling scene.

For decades, Larry dedicated himself to covering cycle racing across the country, sharing stories, results and photographs from races large and small. Since the 1990s he documented the sport tirelessly, and through founding VeloUK he created a platform that celebrated riders at every level - from youth racers taking their first steps to elite competitors at the top of the sport.

Larry was a familiar and welcome presence at events across the UK, always passionate about shining a light on the riders and communities that make cycle racing so special. His work helped capture the history of countless races and supported the growth of the sport we all love.

Our thoughts are with Larry’s family and friends, and with everyone in the cycling community who knew him.

Thank you for everything you did for British cycling, Larry. You will be greatly missed.

We're proud to be represented at Ilkley Christmas Tree Festival on the Ilkley Community Network tree!

The festival is open 10-6 today and 10-5 tomorrow at St Margaret's Church.

Bini Brew Co were serving their fantastic selection of beers while Ilkley's famous 'Man Cave Duo' Dan and Kevin were joined by special guests Matt Trevett and Adam Nabarro-Steel to entertain crowds with their amazing musical performances throughout the evening!
