HURSTfolk. is delighted to share some of the fantastic events coming up at Hurst Festival this September!

From live music and comedy to classical performances, country and line dancing, and an evening of ghost stories, there’s loads happening around the village between 12–27 September.

We’ve picked out just a few of the events that caught our eye above, but this is only a small part of this year’s programme.

A little piece of Hurstpierpoint history…

Here’s Andrée in Pierpoint Pet Supplies back in the early 90s, along with the shop front as it looked in those early years.

More than three decades later, Lee & Andrée are preparing to close the shop for the final time on 19 September, after 36 years serving the village.

We’ve now raised an amazing £3,206 towards a community leaving gift for them. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed so far.

There are less than two weeks to go, so please keep sharing the fundraiser and spreading the word. And of course, you can still pop into Pierpoint Pet Supplies over the next couple of weeks to stock up for your pets and support Lee & Andrée in person too.

We are absolutely BLOWN AWAY to discover that 458 Co-op members have already chosen HURSTfolk. as their Local Community Fund cause! ❤️

After having to take a break this year, seeing so many people get behind HURSTfolk. genuinely means the world to us. It gives us real hope that, with enough support, we might be able to bring the festival back to Hurstpierpoint in 2027. 🎶

But we’re not there yet — and we’ve now got just 10 weeks left to build as much support as we possibly can.

When I started this fundraiser, I set the target at £1,200 because I genuinely didn't know what to expect.

To now be sitting at £2,721 is quite amazing.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraiser or left a message. It's been lovely to see just how many people appreciate everything Lee & Andrée have done for Hurstpierpoint over the last 36 years.

If you know anyone who knows Lee & Andrée, or whose pets they've looked after over the years, please do keep sharing the fundraiser. The more people we can reach, the more memorable we can make their community leaving gift.

Many of you will have heard by now that Lee & Andrée are sadly closing their shop, Pierpoint Pet Supplies, after 36 years.

I thought I'd share this lovely photo of them on their wedding day. They even had their wedding reception at The New Inn, which says so much about just how long they've been part of village life.

For 36 years they've been there for all of us and our pets. They've become such a familiar part of Hurstpierpoint that it's hard to imagine the High Street without them.

We're putting together a community thank-you gift to show them just how much they're appreciated. If you'd like to be part of it, please give whatever you can, it all adds up and will help us give them the send-off they deserve.
