It’s a bit of a late addition to this years yarn show plans but I’m hitting the road a few weeks early and heading to Sheffield for in under 2 weeks. I’m frantically working through my orders and creating show stock so if you’ve messaged or emailed and I’ve missed it please just give me a poke.

May 28th is World Blood Cancer Day and for those of you that are new here I’m Jody, the woman single handedly winding all your yarn cakes, and I have a chronic type of blood cancer called an MPN. I’m very lucky that I have an amazingly supportive family and a great team at the hospital who are helping to keep me well. I’ve spent the last 3 years on a clinical trial and the results have been great with my blood counts all responding well and although this doesn’t leave me completely symptom free it does mean my good days out number the bad ones and I’m able to run Crochet UK from my garden shed giving me something to focus on, and enough projects to last a lifetime.

If you would like to do something amazing to mark World Blood Cancer Day then go and visit or and get yourself signed up as a stem cell doner. Many blood cancer sufferers aren’t in the lucky position that I am an a stem cell transplant might be their only option.

As well as working on my orders and stock for my upcoming shows I’ve also been making up some samples of the patterns I have available and this one has been a long time in the making but it’s the amazing Butterfly Bush mandala by if you have been here for long you will know that I struggle with a written pattern and always go to charts so it’s an absolutely testament to the amazing pattern writing that I managed to do this one completely chart free. Thanks Aimee from pushing me out of my comfort zone.

There are definitely signs around the house that my first yarn shows of the year are getting closer…

My first show of the year is and I’ll be there with a selection of patterns, accessories and yarn cake so you can build a kit in your favourite colours.

I’ll have patterns from with scarves, snoods, mandalas, parasols and wearables.

I hate that after 18 months I am still dealing with this situation. For any of my lovely customers who are visiting Wonderwool this weekend if you come across any of my yarn being sold please be aware that this yarn has never been paid for by the designer and the courts are currently trying to recover the lost money for me. This persons unscrupulous actions have caused me no end of heartache and have made me question whether I could continue with Crochet UK. My yarn is only available through the Crochet UK site, and from myself and at in person events. Anyone else selling Crochet UK yarn is doing so without permission. The designer in question is listed as an exhibitor on the shows website. I would like to add that this is in no way any fault of the show and its organisers and I hope that all those attending and exhibiting have a wonderful weekend.
