A huge thank you to Plessey from the Isle of Wight for coming over to play at Hove & Kingsway Bowls Club! 🎉🎳

What a fantastic afternoon of bowls, laughs and great company. A special thank you for the lovely badges and pens you gifted to the teams — such a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated! 💙

And of course, we have to mention the donkey mascot! 🫏 We absolutely loved it, especially the brilliant tradition of the losing team having to wear the donkey ears! 😂🫏 Definitely made for some memorable photos and plenty of laughs!

It was such a fun afternoon and we’re sorry to see you head home. Thank you for making it such an enjoyable day — we hope you had as much fun as we did.

A reminder that there is no music at the club tomorrow (6th Sept) as there's a bowls match.

Note to those coming for the match, the start has been shifted from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, owing to the A259 (Kingsway) road closure for the B&H Triathlon (this will naturally affect all visitors, so allow extra time and watch out for bikes!).

Music back next week, with Retro Ralph.

What an absolutely brilliant evening at Hove & Kingsway Bowls Club! 🎯🍻

The battle was on… the competition was fierce… the banter was flowing… and then… THE LADIES DID IT! 💃🏆🙌

🥳 WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP! 🥳

There was jumping, cheering, screaming, laughing, high-fiving and probably a few sore heads tomorrow! 😂💃🎉

The ladies played their socks off and absolutely smashed it, taking a fantastic victory! 🏆💪❤️

Commiserations to the boys… better luck next time! 😉😂 Although we’re sure they’ll be claiming they were “just letting us win”!! 🤣🤣

What a fabulous bunch, an amazing atmosphere and superb fun from start to finish. Nights like this are what bowls is all about! ❤️🎯

Fifty-four bowlers and and a fair number of spectators enjoyed the best of the bank holiday with our 2nd Annual Triples competition.

Eighteen teams took the green (up from 11 last year), with varying experience, ranging from novice to county champions. In a great spirit, with 47 matches over several hours, Ben's Team came up victorious, holding off the challenge of The Pony Club (IYKYK); The Imbibers took the third prize with a narrow victory over The President's (everyone else, joint fifth!).

A thoroughly enjoyable day, congratulations to the winners (of course, bowls is the real winner), thanks to all those taking part, the organisers, everyone who donated a raffle prize, and of course the bar and kitchen staff for keeping us fed and watered throughout the day.

See you same time next year!

Note there is no music next week (ignore any signs and notices that say there is), as we have a bowls match and logistically, would be nigh on impossible to have both.
