Barefoot Retreats Houghton International Horse Trials

🇬🇧New for this year the team at BEDE Events will be running an Eventer Trial at the beautiful Sandringham Estate, by kind permission of His Majesty King Charles III which will be running during the Sandringham House Horse Driving Trials on Saturday 24th June 2023!

🎉This is an exciting opportunity to enable young or inexperienced horses and riders to gain experience in a competition environment. The Eventer Trials are designed to be run on a relaxed but efficient basis, running 3 classes at 80cm, 90cm and 100cm!

It’s been a busy morning of dressage in the international classes at the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials.

At lunchtime on day one, the current leaders are:

CCI-S 4*
Gemma Stevens and Flash Cooley (28.8 )

CCI-S 3*
Marcio Carvalho Jorge and Castle Howard Casanova (26.9)
Oliver Townend and Tregilder (26.9)

Further to the extraordinary level of communications and questions we have had today, regarding the exclusion of Barefoot Retreats Houghton International from the released British Eventing calendar on Monday 12th December, it is with great sadness that we confirm that currently British Eventing has not renewed the affiliation agreement for Houghton meaning that the fixture is not scheduled to run in 2023.

Houghton Hall Estate and Musketeer remain totally committed to an event running at the venue and we both continue to challenge this decision, around which we have had very little communications as to the reason why.

We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who have been involved and given up their time and made commitment in all the different ways to this wonderful fixture over the 16 years.

We will update with further developments if anything changes.

It was a really special couple of days for Tina and Isabelle Cook with us at the Barefoot Retreats Houghton International Horse Trials last weekend, as they both finished in the top 10 at their first international competition together in the CCI 2*-L.

We caught up with them after prize giving to reflect on a great day for Team Cook!
