In a weeks time I will jagged 23hrs left of going up and down Butser Hill. Currently with the fabulous Harriet doing some Pink Elephant Challenge 3 admin/prep, before I do a trail walk with the weighted vest and walking poles at 10pm today, with Harriet keeping me company.

Thanks again to Reverse Rett for supporting me and my daft challenges ❤️

Gareth Warne has really ramped up the intensity as he approaches his latest epic challenge.

Gareth will be running up and down Butser Hill in Hampshire either pulling a sled, carrying a wheelchair on his back or wearing a weighted vest for 24 hours inspired by the memory of his sister, Angharad 😍

If you live in the area then please get down to Queen Elizabeth Country Park and give him some support 👋👋👏👏

Huge news for the progress of curing Rett Syndrome!

On May 18th 2022, Neurogene announced NGN-401, a new gene therapy candidate for Rett Syndrome. This work has been developed in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh and is led by none other than Dr Stuart Cobb, Ph.D., who is now Chief Scientific Officer at Neurogene.

With your help, Reverse Rett has financially supported the work of both the Cobb and Bird labs at the University of Edinburgh for more than a decade via the RSRT MECP2 and Gene Therapy Consortia.

We are delighted to see this work come to fruition in the form of a commercial product at Neurogene and look forward to further progress towards human trials in due course. Congratulations to all involved!

Raffle Prize Appeal:

On the day of my big challenge, we plan to run a raffle for anyone to enter. We have a few prizes so far, but the more better.
If you work somewhere that sells/makes things you feel would make a good raffle prize then please ask them.
Run a business and want to donate a prize, let me know.
If you know someone that might be up for donating a prize, please reach out to them.
We hope to get plenty of people out walking at Butser Hill on the 25th/26th June interested in what I'm doing, and a raffle is a great way of doing this.
The raffle will be available online too, so prizes don't have to be Southsea/Portsmouth specific.
Any prizes, introductions, help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
If you need any information on what I'm doing, who I'm doing for and why I'm doing it, just let me know or check www.justgiving.com/pinkelephantchallenge3

After a cheeky hill reps session on Butser Hill this evening, I thought I'd do a little update video on training and the plans for the 25th June.

It's Sled dragging day! Anyone remember the sled from Muscle Acre 2018?!...

As you know, PEC3 is a greatest hits of all the challenges Gareth has done so far. He'll be switching between dragging the sled (2018), running with the wheelchair (from 2020), running with the weighted vest (from 2015!!) for a full 24hrs. Non-stop. ⛰️🌄⛰️☀️🌙

If that's not worth donating a few ££, I don't know what is!
