After a long chapter in a difficult environment, I’ve finally closed the door on an abusive workplace. It’s been a journey full of challenges that tested my resilience, but also one that brought unexpected gifts—lifelong friendships with some of the most incredible, supportive, and inspiring people I’ve ever met.

To the amazing humans who stood beside me through it all: thank you for the laughs, the venting sessions, the solidarity, and the strength. You made even the hardest days bearable, and I’ll carry those connections with me forever. .ginger

Unexpected things I’ll miss about living in the centre of town part 1: the Brighton Greenway.

I was once asked (about 2009?) to give a quote to a national newspaper about this “scheme”. Whilst I didn’t go as far as deriding it as the result of a Brighton Councillor’s holiday to Manhattan, a somewhat s**t rip off of the NY Highline, I certainly thought that way at the time.

Over the past year I’ve developed a strange love for this weird little patch of turf next to the train station. It’s often full of teenagers smoking w**d, but there’s a teeny allotment there, it’s a quiet place to walk a dog whilst questioning what elected officials consider “art”. Sometimes there’s bumblebees, often foxes.

Visit it sometime.

Another excellent meal , an excellent stay and the absolute pleasure of meeting the proprietor of on Friday night .brighton which meant a banging meal there on Saturday night. Memorable dining experience last week at the VS event. Memorable quote from the evening: “that broth was like crack. Not that I’ve ever had crack but I’m confident it’s close”. My dining companion preferred the classic Italian flavours of CinCin whilst I was firmly camp Lucky Khao. Do need to know the secret of that five spice broth though.

Enjoyed relaxing weeks in Portugal with some pals, met a dog who now lives with me temporarily, people had birthdays, behaved suitably terribly at awards ceremonies, learnt that family members under 10 take better selfies than me, learnt AI thinks I should have pink hair and look like a boi, did a takeover of a “proper bar” with a far more competent bartender than myself.

Took more selfies than I’m comfortable admitting, made a load of sandwiches, bought too many trainers, drank some drinks and ate some food. Family members got pets and friends got engaged. Fell in love with my job and all the folk in these photos.

Edinburgh lit up at night is pretty. So is . The rest of the photos we took this evening are utterly awful but this one made me chuckle. There must have been some complex camera setting up involved in this but it was 2am so I can’t remember what it was.
