HIGH TECH ON THE HIGH SEAS!

As we reflect back on the incredible race week - we were proud to embrace new technology to help make the event smarter, safer and more environmentally friendly.

๐Ÿค– A HUGE thank you to Irish Marine Services who provided us with the Robotic Marks seen in the photo of Ger Owens and Mel Morris - we were one of the first events in Northern Ireland to use robotic racing marks. These GPS-controlled marks can be positioned and repositioned remotely, reducing the need for traditional anchored marks and helping minimise our impact on the seabed.

๐Ÿ“ Thank you also to MetaSail for providing the eventโ€™s live GPS tracking system, allowing racing to be followed and monitored throughout the Championships and bringing another level of technology to the event. We had viewers across the world which was amazing!

๐Ÿท๏ธ And even competitor tallying went high-tech, with an individual electronic tally tag system helping us keep track of sailors heading onto and returning from the water - making an important safety process quicker and more efficient.

From the racecourse to race control, technology played a huge part in delivering the RNIYC 2026 GP14 World Championships.

A fantastic example of how major sailing events can embrace innovation while also looking at ways to become safer, smarter and kinder to our marine environment. ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™

Huge thanks to everyone who helped us make it happen.
