Day two of the build - and the storm didn't stop us!

Hitchin had quite a thunderstorm today but the team at Hitchin Rugby Club kept going regardless. The casks are racked, the cider shelves are stocked, the bars are taking shape and the pump clips are laid out and ready. Swipe through to see how the festival is coming together inside the marquee. One more day of build, then doors open Thursday at 5pm.

80 beers are heading to the World Beer Bar this year, the strongest international line-up we have brought to the festival.

From Belgium, a full sweep of styles: easy-drinking fruit beers, traditional gueuze and lambics from venerated producers, Trappist and Abbey-style beers, and a couple of low or no alcohol surprises. From Germany, a strong selection of kellerbiers, lagers, pils and wheat beers, several not seen at HBCF before.

Plus a smaller selection from Denmark, Estonia, France, Norway, Spain, and a handful from England we could not resist.

Swipe through to see who is pouring. Whatever you drink, there is something on the World Beer Bar with your name on it.

3 days to go until the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026.

The festival is organised entirely by volunteers, members of CAMRA North Hertfordshire and Hitchin Rugby Club who give their time to make three days of great beer happen in the heart of Hitchin. From selecting the drinks list to running the bars, everything you see on the day is the result of months of volunteer effort. If you have ever thought about getting involved, keep an eye out for future volunteering calls.

With four days to go, here is a quick look at the dark beer selection coming to the festival this year.

Moor are bringing Old Freddy Walker. The Kernel are pouring two of their porters, Running Porter and London Porter. Abbeydale round out the lineup with their Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Stout, a flavoured option for those who want something a little different.

A small but considered selection from three respected names. Find them across the bars on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

4 days to go. The International Beer Bar is one not to overlook.

Alongside the cask ale bars and the Cider Bar, the International Beer Bar brings a different dimension to the festival, with bottled and keg beers from further afield, for those who want to range a little wider. It is a good complement to the real ale range and gives the festival a breadth that suits all tastes. Whether you come for the cask or the international bar, there is a full day's worth of exploring to be done.

47 ciders and perries are coming to the Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival 2026, and it is one of the strongest Cider Bar line-ups we have put together.

This year we have gone big on flavoured ciders, reflecting just how popular they have become. Alongside them you will find Eastern Counties, West Country and Farmhouse styles, four keeved ciders, and five perries for those who prefer something a little different. Two sparkling ciders join the bar as well, this time from Ross on Wye and Pilton. Many of the producers are new to the festival, so there is plenty to discover even if you have been before.
