Course Records: 59 minutes. Hello and welcome to the Hitchin Triathlon. Here you will find all of the information that you need for the race. The Hitchin Triathlon is set in the beautiful surroundings of North Hertfordshire. Hitchin is one of the most up-and-coming places in the U.K to come to, with its historic places of interest, its location and vibrant scene, making it perfect for an event like this to take place in. This event is for those who are doing their first ever tri, up to the experienced racer. The course has potential for a PB too. The event is held at Hitchin swimming pool, with the swim being in the outdoor pool (50m per length) for that open air feeling but no wetsuit required! You then exit the water and go straight into transition which is based next to the outdoor pool. Upon leaving transition with your bike you will then head out onto a gently undulating course, with lots of fast flat sections, taking in some interesting sights. The route is 20.2km. When you get back to transition you will then rack your bike and head out onto the 5km run that takes in parts of the town centre and Butts Close Park, where the event is based, starts and concludes. The run course is a jones wheel measured 5km and follows the racing line of the course (shortest possible route that can be taken). Every finisher will get a medal. T-shirts can be purchased for an additional fee. The sprint distance tri:
1st, 2nd and 3rd placed male and female will win a trophy and age group winners too. Nitro and kids distance: overall male and female podium placements.
