Performing music from Eddie’s second album Americana, the trio tells the story of an 8,000 km hitchhiking journey from Alaska to California, completed in under two months during the summer of 2022.

From sleeping in the Alaskan wilderness to cycling down Santa Monica Pier, the music captures vast landscapes, unforgettable encounters, and a vivid, hopeful yet unflinching reflection on American life.

Join us on the bandstand this Sunday for fantastic up and coming trumpeter Lara Hopper!

Lara is currently studying on scholarship at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. She is in her first year of studies there, but had already performed alongside esteemed musicians such as Chelsea Carmichael, and performed for legendary guitarist John McLaughlin. Lara is inspired by a diverse range of music, ranging from bebop legends like Freddie Hubbard to modern boundary-pushers Ambrose Akinmisure and Takuya Kuroda, and is excited to make her debut Hexham Jazz Festival.
