Heavenly tea and flapjacks
15 miles and 3300 feet of ascent later and what could be better than a tent full of well earned refreshments - huge thanks to the volunteers from St Thomas's church for their hard work and generosity. It wouldn't be Heptonstall Fell Race without the hot drinks and hundreds of home made flapjacks - in the heroic surroundings of our 70 year old WW2 vintage marquee. Guides and Rainbows joined the team - as we all gathered to refuel, and relive the race as fellow runners streamed back in from the moors. Heptonstall Fell Race helps the church fund improvements to their community facilities, along with donations to Mytholmroyd Scouts, CROWs, Guides, and Calder Valley Search and Rescue (all proceeds from entries donated to local groups who help us to stage the race)
