On Monday evening, we were joined by around 50 of our wonderful volunteers in celebration of Volunteers’ Week.

Those who attended were treated to drinks, before a few short presentations, including:

- an update from the Volunteer Forum
- the formal launch of our new Volunteer Recognition Scheme
- presentation of long-term service awards

Our volunteers also had the opportunity to ask questions, and we were joined by several people who are interested in volunteering at The Kenton.

Thank you everyone!

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed, and always humorous, The Kenton presents 'An Evening of Mediumship with Psychic Tony Stockwell'.

The popular star of TV’s Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony Stockwell has a long-established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums.

Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates, and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity, and empathy. The evening may include psychometry, photograph readings and psychic prediction.

Recent legislative guidelines insist that any Evening of Mediumship should be billed ‘for entertainment purposes’. Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship, and Cockney charisma to entertain but more important, Mediumship has the potential to change someone’s life and instil in them a sense of peace, comfort, and purpose.

We hope that nobody can fail to come away untouched by the experience.

Tickets are £29.25 and are available now online, over the phone or in person at our Box Office.

A very special Kenton conversation: Antony Barlow and Lottie Pheasant.

We were delighted to welcome Antony Barlow back to The Kenton for a conversation with our current Theatre Manager, Lottie Pheasant. Antony’s extraordinary career in the arts has included work with major theatres, dance companies and artists across the UK and beyond. Here in Henley, he ran the newly restored Kenton Theatre and gave a young Cameron Mackintosh his first chance of producing.

In conversation with Lottie, Antony reflected on The Kenton’s history, the importance of local support, and what it takes to keep a theatre like ours thriving.

His message still feels just as relevant today: The Kenton has always depended on strong relationships, community spirit and people getting behind it.

As a charity, that support remains vital to our future.

The High Priestess of Punk, Toyah, will return next year with her Songs & Stories tour, following a highly successful first run this spring.

Her new run will begin next September at Harrogate Theatre, and concludes on November 28 at the Broadway Theatre in Letchworth. She'll be in Henley on Thames at The Kenton on Thursday 7 October 2027.

The Songs & Stories tour, which runs until June, has enjoyed extraordinary success this spring with many venues selling-out.

A singer and actor, a TV host and author, a multiple BRIT Award nominee and a film star – Toyah has worn many hats during a remarkable career. The High Priestess of Punk burst on to the scene in 1976 as she forged dual careers as a musician and actress who featured at The National Theatre and London’s Royal Court.

Her role in Quadrophenia made her a household name and soon after she gate-crashed the charts with It’s A Mystery, I Want To Be Free, and Thunder In The Mountains, as the album, Anthem, earned a gold disc and BRIT nominations for Best Female and British Breakthrough Act.

She married King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp in 1986 and she starred opposite Sir Laurence Olivier and The Who’s Roger Daltrey, among others. Acting, presenting, performing, headlining tours, and releasing 16 studio albums continued her unique story and now it’s time to reflect. Once again, Toyah is hitting the road for an extensive UK tour in which she’ll sing favourite hits and tell stories from her remarkable career.

She said: “I am having the most wonderful time on this tour, meeting fans, telling stories, and singing my favourite hits. The chance to do it all again next year was too good to miss!”

Tickets go on general sale tomorrow, Friday 29 May but our Friends & Patrons can take advantage of a priority booking period from 11am TODAY.
