The Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall Hemel Hempstead’s sole professional theatre, The Old Town Hall sits in the heart of the community it serves. Our theatre, cellar club, and gallery spaces are a creative hub for showcasing creativity and developing artists. We aim to promote a life-long interest in the arts by providing an accessible, broad, inclusive, and affordable programme for everyone to enjoy. Theatre has the power to inform, challenge, entertain, and inspire, regardless of background or circumstance; we truly believe this, and it underpins everything we do.
The Old Town Hall is publicly funded by Dacorum Borough Council.

📣 IMPORTANT INFO FOR CUSTOMERS COMING TO SIMON EVANS & THE CARPENTERS STORY 📣

The High Street is currently undergoing repairs from an urgent power cable outage. You may find that it is closed from the Queensway entrance and you may not be able to drive up the High Street. The Blue Badge holder marketplace car park is currently available for parking. You can still access the High Street Car Park (HP1 3AQ) via the top end of the High Street off Piccotts End Road. Please allow extra time for your journey. 🚗

We are aware that the theatre gets warm! 🥵 We have hired an air conditioning unit which has been running for the past few days to cool down the auditorium, and we will have plenty of ice-cold water available as you go into the theatre. We are doing/will do everything we can to keep you as comfortable and cool as possible during your visit to us, however please do dress for the warmer temperatures, and bring a hand-held fan if you need one. 🪭

🏰 Heading to see Sir Charlie Stinky Socks at 2pm? Read this first! 🧦

We are so excited to welcome a full house for this afternoon's sold-out adventure! To make sure your quest to the theatre goes smoothly, here are two very important updates for today:

1. Road Closure Update 🚧
The High Street is currently closed from the Queensway entrance due to urgent power cable repairs. You won't be able to drive up the High Street as normal.

How to find us: You can still easily access our car park by driving in from the top of the High Street via Piccotts End Road. Please give yourself a few extra minutes for your journey!

2. Keeping Cool ☀️
It is a scorcher out there today! To keep our brave adventurers comfy, we have hired a special air conditioning unit to help cool the space down, and we'll have plenty of ice-cold water waiting for you. 🧊💧
